“The way to go...”

We've never been to Yellowstone and the Tetons before and were only planning a short stay. A guided tour seemed like the best way to get an insider's view. We were so glad that we picked Buffalo Roam Tours. It was raining at the start of the day but Kim, our guide, was confident that the rain would not impede our travels. She was right. The clouds even lessened the crowds at some sites. Kim's knowledge of the park and her awareness of the interconnectedness of all of nature kept us constantly engaged. It was wonderful to have someone else do the driving and to be able to sit back and take pictures and not worry about traffic and narrow roads. We saw Old Faithful and numerous smaller geothermal features. The Yellowstone Falls and Canyon are beautiful no matter what the weather. The sun even broke out as we passed the Grand Tetons at the end of the trip. We saw the wildlife that Kim promised at the beginning of the tour and were impressed by her sensitivity to us and the wildlife. Kim was a gracious, intelligent and sensitive person who created a sense of community among the five of us. It was worth every penny. We highly recommend this tour.

“Fantastic tour”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

We had only one day to tour Yellowstone and signed up for this tour. Kim, our guide, was so sweet yet highly professional, and had an incredible knowledge of the park. We maximized our short time to the fullest. When part of the park was closed because of wildfires, she detoured and showed us everything possible in Yellowstone, then took us through the Tetons. This tour was the highlight of our western trek and we highly recommend it. As senior citizens, we bought the national park service pass for $10 which covered both of us for entry into Yellowstone. We saw a bison really close up--in fact we thought he was going to charge the van but passed directly in front and crossed the road. We also saw elk about 10 feet away. This tour was worth every penny! Judy and Tom

“A small, personal touring service that offers the full Yellowstone experience”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I went on a 12 hour tour of the Yellowstone lower loop with Matt and had an incredible time. We started the tour at 7 in the morning. Matt picked us up at our hotel (Snake River Lodge) which was well out of his way. He made the trip centered around pleasing my family and I for the entire trip, asking us where we wanted to go and what we preferred to do. I gave him the names of some the popular areas and told him that we'd like to hike. Along the way to the major areas, he stopped several times along the way to show us off-road sights on these "secret trails". We got to see natural formations and wildlife just as spectacular and varied as any of the major, tourist heavy areas of the park. There was no way we would have found these areas without Matt. Matt knows the park so well. He has firsthand stories for the craziest scenarios at Yellowstone and is a walking encyclopedia of interesting facts and nature wisdom which kept us engaged and entertained all 12 hours. What I thought was a park with just 4 major attractions actually turned out to have an numerable number of amazing areas. On the ride back to our hotel, we exceeded the 12 hours by a half hour but Matt still drove slowly and helped us find wildlife form the comfort of the van. Because of this, we saw a coyote and a juvenile black bear. Another more popular company would have just sped us to the hotel and dumped us out as quickly as possible. This touring experience was the highlight of my trip, I would strongly recommend it to all friends and family.

Matt provided an outstanding personalised, interesting, fun and professional tour of Yellowstone National Park. He was concerned with our comfort, engaging, informative and full of amazing information, happily answering a lot of tough questions about the wildlife and ecology of this incredible national park.
One of the best days of my life!

“Best Way to See Grand Tetons and Yellowstone”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

I usually do a lot of planning prior to vacations, reading books and determining the must-see spots. Time did not allow for that much planning on this trip so I was glad I came across Buffalo Roam Tours. Matt was our guide in both the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge about both areas including history, geology, biology, culture, recent events and anything else you want to know. My husband and I both got to see everything because one of wasn't driving and losing out on the view! And, we had a human guide book that took us to the places we wanted to see and gave detailed explanations. The tour goes at the right pace - you won't feel rushed or bored. We even wanted to see some specific animals, and Matt kept trying the spots he knew until we found them. Well worth the money!
