“great view, average service”
Reviewed August 3, 2008

First, here is the best view of the Tetons you're going to get. But this is less a resort and more a managed condo development. We stayed in a nice three-bedroom condo with no air conditioning. The Granary is a first-rate restaurant. But the staff at Spring Creek was not as attentive as we expected, considering the price. The concierge booked us a full-day fly fishing through World Cast Anglers. It took three hours from the time we met the guide until we had lines in the water. To the concierge/angler's credit, we got an apology and a 30% refund, which helped to make it right. We probably would have enjoyed staying at the Four Seasons more, but we would not have had the magnificent view of the Tetons, which is worth a lot.

This is our third stay at Spring Creek Ranch. The views are hard to believe. On this particular stay we rented one of the larger private homes, as we were a large group. It was perfect.
Our only complaint would be the front desk attitude which needs some help. Housekeeping and maintenance staff were incredible. We will return again.

I used this site before I booked and wasn't disappointed. It was as the reviews said - expensive but the service and views are great.
We got a 1 bedroom (2 single beds separate from a king in the main room). There is no kitchen. Good fireplace. Balcony is small - but opens to the Tetons!!! Nice sunset views. Which is what I wanted.
Tennis courts were great as well as the heated pool.

Spring Creek Ranch is expensive. What you are paying for is the views, location and amenities and not the room. I think most of the rooms are privately owned and so they vary greatly. Our room (3132 - 2 bedroom suite) was decorated like an average ski resort room. The wood paneled walls were paper-thin and there was no air conditioning. What you are paying for are incredible views from all over the property and nice amenities. We had incredible views of the Grand Tetons from both floors of our room. We had a tiny kitchen and there was a balcony with a gas grill. The ranch has a great heated pool (with incredible views) and they offer horseback riding on the property. It is a short ride to the town of Jackson. The Granary restaurant also had incredible views and the food was great but very pricey. The concierge folks tried to be helpful but they seemed to be mostly summer hires with limited real knowledge. We hired a Yellowstone guide through the ranch named Darryl and he was incredibly knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him. The Spring Creek Ranch was perfect for our family of 4. Keep in mind that you are paying for a great location and great views and nice amenities - not a luxurious room.

The Spring Creek Ranch is totally average, which would be fine if it wasn't so expensive. The room is a nice size, but nothing remarkable. We couldn't see the Tetons from our room. Instead, we had a view of a stagnant pond and a lot of mosquitoes. The hotel is a five-ten mintue drive from the town of Jackson and while the views from the grounds are nice and you have a pool and tennis courts, I don't think the hotel is worth the price tag.

I had a difficult time choosing a hotel in Jackson Hole. It was either in town (too noisy) or WAY out of my price range. I finally decided to splurge a little and book the Spring Creek Ranch, which was NOT inexpensive by any means.

We got there late, and they had screwed up our reservation. I had booked 4 nights, and they only had us for 3 nights. The room they gave us had fabulous view of the Tetons, but it was RIGHT NEXT to the bar!! There is NO air conditioning in the hotel, so we couldn't open the sliding glass door or enjoy the balcony because of the noise.

The insulation must be poor because there was a guy upstairs who woke us at all hours of the night and day walking across his room, but it sounded as if he was stomping! The bathroom had poor lighting in the shower area.

There are wonderful robes for you to use while you are there and a gorgeous stone fireplace in each room, but whatever you do, DON"T book room 2102 unless you like hearing bar noise!

The view and location are perfect. It is located between Jackson ski resort and the town of Jackson. But, the two bedroom condo we were first given was hideous. The condo was incredibly dated with furniture better suited to a frat house. Sofa and chairs were stained, old and falling apart. There were no large windows to enjoy the view, which was mostly of the back of other condos. You couldn't sit and see the view. You would have to stand up to see out the windows.

We were fortunate that they were able to move us. Thanks to the staff at Spring Creek. We really appreciated their work in getting us into a new place. The condo we moved to was amazing! Perfect view, nice furnishings, up to date... It looked nothing like the first one. So, be warned that there are huge differences in the condo you may be getting.

We were there for the Fourth and the hotel did a great job with a barbeque and a shuttle up to the top of the butte to watch the fireworks over town. It was a really neat experience to be looking down on the town and see fireworks bursting above.

We would definitely stay here again. We checked out the other nice hotels in the area. The only one that we would ever consider would be the Four Seasons, but it is at Jacskon ski resort and twice the distance to town and all the action. It also does not have the amazingly perfect view that Spring Creek has to offer. The Amangani was cold and sterile.
