Good for: Bar scene, Local cuisine, Large groups
Dining options: Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast, Late Night
Description: Located South of Town Square. The Bird provides one of the most fantastic views in the greater Teton Valley, with panoramic mountain vistas offering a brilliant sunset. A favorite watering hole of local legend Colonel Angus, it is a neighborhood pub atmosphere with rustic wood interior. Great for all but beware, the late-night scene can get quite rowdy and may not be suitable for families with young children. The Bird prides itself in offering a unique "local" experience whilst offering great cuisine. Not the place to be pandered to but if you wish to let loose, eat right, and escape the standard tourist trap come on in!

Alittle out of the way but no worries - they have a shuttle to bring you in and take you back! Layed back "local " bar with truly awesome burgers! They grind their own meat daily and have really figured out how a burger should be. Lots of interesting beers on tap. It is worth the trip just to read the menu - hilarious!

We stopped here as a family - parents (40s), MIL (70s), and kiddos (7 & 12) in July 2012. (Yes, I know this is a very late review, but we are just getting caught up on late reviews, and we wanted to mention how much we loved this place!) We were staying at the Snake River KOA, and it was just down the road from here heading back into Jackson Hole.

First off, this is NOT THE IDEAL PLACE FOR LITTLE KIDS, but if you have well-behaved children, are here for a meal early, and understand that the atmosphere is not meant to be geared towards them, it is great! Think about it, it is a bar. If your kids like to read all the signs in a place and ask you questions about them, know it will happen here. It is a very laid back place that my hubby and i would have loved to visit alone and would certainly return to with or without the kids. The other reviews on here should give you a good idea of what to expect as far as that goes. When we were here, they did not have a specific "kids menu," but they did offer to make grilled cheese for our 7-year-old, which he loved. My MIL was not offended by anything here either and thought the place was great.

As for the food for the rest of us, it was absolutely wonderful. Every single one of us loved our meals, which was a nice change after coming in from West Yellowstone, where we had a hard time not wanting to just eat at fast food places just because everything else was so bad. I have added pics of our meal to give you an idea of just how much of this yumminess you get with your meal.

We had wanted to eat outside for the view, but it was a busy night and no tables were open right away. As we were really hungry and could smell the delicious food, we decided not to wait and to just eat inside, which is not bad at all, and then just go out and enjoy the view with a drink after we were finished with our meals. There are lots of fun things to look at inside; however, the mountain backdrop was amazing.

To sum it up, food was delicious, price was reasonable, staff were all very nice and professional, service was quick, atmosphere was fun. What more could you want? We highly recommend trying this place if you are anywhere near the area.

I'm happy that places like this exist. No BS, quality beef, good beer selection and specials. Wish we had a place like this closer to home!

Coming from big cities where bars/restaurants rely on loud music and overpriced drinks to produce quick turnover, we liked The Bird's quirky, laid back environment. Very friendly staff. Casual atmosphere.

Unlike many bar/restaurants, the food and drink was varied and good. We liked everything we ate -- particularly the super-spicy hotwings uncommon to find at a restaurant -- and appreciated the drink options ranging from German beer to $3 domestics. Also liked that they provided a ride home.

After a day of skiing we enjoyed spending a couple hours having dinner, shooting pool, and listening to discussion. To give an idea of the crowd, some patrons were seated alone at the bar for dinner and a beer, there were a couple families with children in the backroom, and a few other groups conversing at tables -- some locals, some vacationing skiiers. Adults there tended to be in the 25-40 age range.

Saw this was #1 place on trip advisor so our group decided to give it a shot. It was a great place. I had the steak and it was cooked perfect. It was really busy but service was still great. The atmoshphere was a lot of fun. You can see why it's #1. Would of went here more just only decided to go our last day. Burgers were also really good
