Owner description: Grizzly Country Wildlife Adventures offers world class guided tours through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. Spend the day exploring Grand Teton National Park under the spectacular Teton Range looming overhead at 13,770 feet. Hear stories of fur trappers and mountain men that came into the valley to make a living and decided to lay down there hats in Jackson Hole and make a life in this sometimes harsh but beautiful climate. Make sure to keep a keen eye, there is nothing like being the first to spot one of the animals that reside in the Greater Yellowstone Eco System. Catching a black bear high up in a berry bush or spotting a Pronghorn, aka North Americas fastest land mammal, sprint through a meadow before your friends will definitely earn you some bragging rights on your trip! We will provide binoculars and your guide will set up a spotting scope so that you can see every little detail of these animals from a grizzly bear’s claws that can reach up to 4 inches long to the super soft velvet that cover the antlers of a moose’s paddles in the summer time. Or head up north into Yellowstone National Park and take in some 10,000 thermal features. You will see geysers that erupt 100 feet over your head and bacteria mats that are so colorful they rival fine art. Don’t worry about missing out on the animals listed above, they also call Yellowstone home and love to make an appearance on our tours. If you are lucky you could witness a bison taking a dust bath to keep away the bugs or watch a grizzly protect a fresh kill in the Hayden Valley. Americas first National Park covers an impressive 2,221,766 acres, so we want to make sure that you are well fed and comfortable throughout the 10-12 hour tour. Before you leave Jackson we will fuel up at a local coffee shop or market and just when the first tummy grumbles your guide will make a beautiful gourmet picnic lunch in one of the many pretty spots up in the park. We searched far and wide for a super comfortable ride to take our VIPS on tour and we landed in Ohio, home to the Explorer Van. Each of our Vans have leather captains chairs and raised roofs leaving you feeling like a million bucks at the end of a full day of touring. Yellowstone is like no place on earth making it a must see on your trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

“Yellowstone national park tour.”

this guided trip was by far the best we have ever taken. our guides name is Lincoln Baker and he did a great job. We saw many different animal species mostly because Lincoln made wise decisions about our route. We started earlier in the morning 6:30 a.m. where most the other trips we screened to southern loop of Yellowstone start around 7:30. There was an inversion causing fog and it seemed to have the animals a little more active. We saw two moose early in our travel followed by a modest herd of buffalo and a prong horn. We weren't going to make old faithful in time for the way the route and road was running so Lincoln made a great decision to run the route backward. We saw a large herd of buffalo and then the best treat wolves, 4 total after a young bison. Lincoln was quick to grab the spotting scope and tripod so we could get a good view of them. Lincoln was very Informative and knowledgeable, willing to share the trip experience with the group. I would recommend this tour group to all even if the price does appear a little prohibitive. To view everything while someone of knowledge answers your questions and expertly does the driving and navigation makes it worth it.

“Amazing Tour, Amazing Guide: Kris Walker!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

My husband and I have a very DIY mindset when it comes to most things. When planning our trip to a few National Parks in a very short amount of time, we set out to explore them on our own. I will have to say, though, that this tour of Yellowstone was such an amazing way to see the park and wildlife without the stress of driving/navigating. Not to mention the vast amount of knowledge our guide, Kris Walker, shared throughout the day. He had the perfect balance of history, information, personal experiences, and was hilarious to boot! We were picked up right on time and joined one other couple on this tour July 19,2013. Some people might think it a bit awkward to go on an all day tour with strangers, but we became fast friends, and honestly, it made the tour even more enjoyable and fun for us! It was a BLAST from start to finish!!! On top of Kris's vast amount of knowledge about the park and wildlife, he also gave us recommendations on hiking trails, and places to eat. Recommendations are essential when you only have a limited amount of time in one place. (Ahem... go ahead and book your tour already!)

The van was very comfortable and spacious, and we each had access to binoculars. A souvenir water bottle was provided, along with locally made organic bars by Kate's (katesrealfood.com). They really do pay attention to details, and you get the very best!!

The first animal we saw was a black bear!!! That basically set the tone for the rest of our day. We saw bison, elk, bald eagles, several osprey (including a couple nesting sites), a young grizzly bear, and a grey wolf! It was just amazing. We didn't know what to expect since it's always a matter of timing and knowing what to look for (thanks, Kris!!!), but we were really blown away at the amount of wildlife we saw and got to photograph!

Kris prepared a delicious lunch at the most beautiful, private site. It was so surreal!

OK, so I can't stop smiling as I recall this tour and all that we saw and talked about. I laughed til I cried toward the end. We even exchanged contact info with everyone. It will be a day we certainly remember for the rest of our lives. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Grizzly Country Wildlife Adventures and Kris Walker!

“Excellent tour”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

The half day tour of Grand Teton was excellent. Our guide Jonathan was exceptional, friendly and a wealth of information. After driving 400 miles in Yellowstone the first two days, having a guide gave me a chance to relax and truly enjoy the experience. Though we were unable to spots any bears, we did see a lot of other animals

“Absolutely phenomenal !”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

My wife and I took the All Day Yellowstone tour on 6/19/13. Our guide, chef, teacher, entertainer and friend Chris arrived promptly on time. After picking up another couple, we were off to a memorable semi-private tour of Yellowstone National Park.
We all became friends, almost instantly. Chris was like a young and knowledge old friend.
The wildlife that we saw included two bears, several elk, osprey, bald eagle, pelican, bison, wolf, beaver and ....
We had a lovely picnic, that Chris prepared, by a picturesque stream.
We saw multiple geysers , including but not limited to , Old Faithful.
We saw fascinating ecosystems on volcanic land - the geyser basins.
On our drive back we all joked and laughed like long lost friends, ending the trip with warm goodbyes.
Chris was truly exceptional. He made the trip educational, informative and thoroughly enjoyable.
We recommend him and Grizzly Country Wildlife Adventures highly and without reservations.

“Go Grizzly!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

What a delightful day we experienced with Jonathan Hunt and Grizzly Country Wildlife Adventures! Jonathan is knowledgeable, friendly and always in control. He gave us lots of history of the area and was always on the lookout for birds and wildlife including spotting a huge moose, prong horn sheep, and several eagles. Exceptional lunch -- no brown bag here. He and Jen are a great team and if you book with Grizzly you will NOT be disappointed!!
