I am so happy to see 5 stars across the board for this wonderful organization. We went as a couple, and there were two other couples on the hike. Believe me, this hike is fun for adults, so don't think of it as just a fun kids' adventure!
Jill (the owner) was in touch with us before the trip to make sure we knew of the meeting place (you actually meet them at the hiking location rather than at the ranch). Jill and her assistant were very friendly, and made sure we knew everything we needed to know regarding how to interact with the llamas and if we needed to stop during our hike. The hike was beautiful--it snowed on us (in mid June), but that added to the beauty. Lunch was plentiful and good. The tour lasted 5 hours, which was the perfect amount of time.
One cautionary note: If you are staying in Jackson, be sure to get a rental car for this excursion. We thought it was closer the city, and found out once we arrived in Jackson that a taxi was going to cost us $100 one way to get to there. Therefore, we got a rental car for $50 for one day.
Be sure to get kiss a llama--it makes for a fun photo to share!

Found Jackson Hole Llamas through Trip Advisor while looking for things to do in the area and decided to give it a try.

We are a family of 4 with kids 16 & 14, and decided to try the day hike. We did not have any experience with llamas, but if you've ever walked a dog, it's kind of like that. They were friendly, fun and a great way to spend the day hiking. We liked it so much, that whenever we return to the area, we would love to go on an overnight trip with them.

Jill and Cathy were wonderful conservationists and you can tell truly love their llamas. The lunch they provided creek-side hit the spot! I loved that they took the time to help us set up a picture with our llamas as well.

If you are looking for a unique and different way to hike, this is truly that.

We had a lovely time with Jill and Dave and their crew of llamas (and Pepper the dog!). It was a fun hike with an extended leg while lunch was being set up (for adventurous folks) that lasted about 5 hours total. Highly recommended for hikers and llama fans.

I've done 3 trips with Jill, Dave and a bunch of llamas. The first took us to Heart Lake... a place that few tourists see up close; the second to the Bechler region, with water features everywhere. Some of us bushwhacked our way to see a waterfall that fewer than 100 people a year (maybe less!) have seen.
My last trip was the first offered from the Bechler to Old Faithful, towards 3 Rivers and enjoying a long soak in Mr. Bubbles, a large thermal pool that receives cool water from the river with the hot water from below, to offer a sauna and a rinse in the middle of some truly astonishing country.
I learned a lot about how to pack, how to manage llamas, and enjoy the company of other strangers who quickly became friends. The sites, sounds, fresh air and Jill's wonderful meals enhance any hike through Yellowstone - a one of a kind gift of nature.
I am hoping to be able to schedule another adventure with Jill and Dave soon...can't say enough good things about them and the way they make hiking a joy.

My wife & I went with 5 other guests to Dunanda Falls in Yellowstone National Park with Jill & Dave, the outfitters. This was a great experience that we plan to do again next year. After 50 backpacking isn't so much fun any more, too many achy joints and muscles. But when the llamas carry the load and the outfitters do much of the work, we could enjoy the wilderness and the wonderful scenery that is too far in the back country for day hikes. Jill and Dave were wonderful guides, the meals were first class, and they subtly helped the group get to know one another and enjoy each other's company. Oh yeah, and the llamas are very cool. We each led a llama, and there were no rodeos like what can happen with horses.
