My family and I recently spent the day with Colin on a full day Grand Teton Wildlife Tour and not only did we see wildlife; Colin was an excellent guide for local history and geology. The tour is so much more than simply finding wildlife, Colin explained why we should find animals at certain places because of the habitat and feed for the time of year when we visited. Lunch was provided at Jackson Lake and everything, except alcohol, was included in our tour.

We had a great day out and everyone from my 22 year old daughter to my 80 year old mother-in-law voted this as one of the highlights of our 3 week tour of Wyoming, Montana and Utah.

We took the day tour in Grand Teton National Park with Taylor on Aug. 24. We couldn't have asked for a better or more friendly guide! Taylor knew the spots to hit to find the animals and shared his knowledge so that we were able to have some great animal encounters in the days following our tour with Taylor. Among the many animals we saw while on our tour with Taylor were a grey wolf, black bear, coyote, red fox, moose cow, bull moose, beaver, pronghorn antelope, bison, and several types of birds. The vehicle was very comfortable and well set up for animal viewing. Snacks and drinks were provided throughout the day and we had a great lunch at a restaurant on Jackson Lake. Taylor shared some very interesting information about the ecology, geology, and history of the Jackson Hole area and provided some useful tips to enhance our stay in Jackson. His advice on hiking led to some spectacular views and an incredible encounter with a mother black bear and her two cubs along the Surprise/Amphitheater trails. I highly recommend Eco Tour Adventures!

On August 14, 2012 a friend and I did the Full Day Grand Teton Wildlife Tour with a total of 5 participants. The tour exceeded our expectations from reading Eco Tour Adventures' description at http://www.jacksonholewildlifetours.com/index.php Colin Paul, the knowledgeable and fun naturalist guide, picked us up at Snow King Hotel at 5:50am, and at tour end dropped us off at Snow King Hotel at 4:30pm. Colin did indeed provide an educational interpretation of the area’s geology, ecosystems, history, and wildlife biology; and led short hikes. The SUV with a viewing hatch, was well stocked with binoculars; spotting scopes; learning materials; and breakfast - hot chocolate/orange juice/blueberry muffin/homemade granola bar/souvenir metal water bottle.
Among what we saw on the Eco Tour:
• Bison (buffalo) feeding on grass; bald eagles; 2 moose (under bridge near Craig Thomas Discovery Visitor Center and Moose Junction) stripping willow leaves off trigs with their long noses; pronghorn antelope feeding on sagebrush in the flats; a red fox; elk feeding on grasses; a great gray owl; herons; a coyote; a red tail hawk; ground squirrels; a beaver dam/lodge; a black bear feeding on yellow flowers; osprey in a tall nest; 2 trumpeter swans; herons; a magpie; wildlife tracks and scat
• cottonwood trees; lodgepole pines with cones that need heat (fire) to open and release seeds; aspen trees that have a single white trunk; possible damage by bark beetles that kill trees; and bitterbrush
• on Mormon Row, Moulton Ranch Barn and 6 homesteads, located off Antelope Flats Road
• Moose Wilson Road
• late 1800s Cunningham Cabin Historic Site, part of a large homestead
• Since we saw no bears eating huckleberries along Signal Mountain Summit Road, we stopped and picked/ate huckleberries and saw fallen tree trunks torn apart by bears seeking carpenter ants.
• Oxbow Bend Turnout on Snake River, Moran
• Pointed out Jackson Lake Dam, the entrance to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Visitors Center, and the Jackson Hole Arial Tram to Rendezvous Mountain at Teton Village
The tour included a good lunch at Signal Mountain Lodge overlooking Jackson Lake.

Took the sunrise tour on Friday, Aug. 31 with Matt. He knew exactly where to go. Within minutes of starting out we saw several large Moose down by the water and a beaver. He continued to hit the spots dead on with mulitple wild life. I was thrilled to see 4 bears in the wild. Matt was also providing running commentary on both the plant life and animal life in the region. Found him to be very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to see wildlife and enjoy the company.

We spent the morning with Kristin on a tour of Grand Teton Park and the surrounding area.

First, let me remind you that wild animals are wild, i.e. they don't show up at a designated spot ready to say 'cheese' for the camera. That being said, we saw a fair number of wild animals including prong horn sheep, buffalo and birds. We received advice on where they tend to be seen most often and even though we didn't see a moose that day (yes, I was determined to see a moose in Wyoming), we retraced our steps the next day and saw three!

Kristin was an excellent guide ... personable, professional, friendly and very knowledgable. We learned so much from her about the history of the area (how DID the Grand Tetons get their name?), the geology, the animals and other local attractions. She took us to places where we could get the perfect pictures and shared information about each of the locations.

The vehicles are comfortable, the availability of beverages and snacks was much appreciated and the scope allowed a closer look at the animals who preferred a BIG distance between themselves and the humans. It was great to be picked up / dropped off at the hotel and Kristin called in advance to ensure we were ready and waiting.

I wouldn't recommend this trip for anyone with very young children but it would work well for anyone with a school age child that is naturally curious and can tolerate a car ride without 'are we there yet?' every 10 minutes. Our trip included Kristin, my husband, our 20 year old daughter, two new friends we met on the trip and myself. You can arrange a private tour (probably best for younger kids) but meeting new people and hearing their stories about Wyoming was part of the charm.

This tour was one of the highlights of our visit and I would definitely recommend them to other visitors. One last note: They put the 'eco' in their name for a reason. At the conclusion of our tour, Kristin explained that they donate a percent of their income to organizations dedicated to the environment. She shared information on a few organizations and we all agreed on the one that would receive the income from our tour. NICE!
