Owner description: About 12 miles from the heart of Jackson, this trail is not as strenuous as some but offers a spectacular view of the Grand Tetons and the occasional antelope.

This is the area where so many of those famous photos are taken of the barns in the foreground and the majestic Grand Tetons in the background. I found the John Moulton farm in Mormon Row Historic District to be can't miss.

Antelope flats road is located off the main road at the moose junction, to the east. If you travel the 10 mile or so drive , it will take you back onto the main st again. (like driving in a big u) Along the way you will pass open meadows, a good size campground area,a side street to the school ,Morman row (an area with old buildings) Hopefully some wildlife.
This hole area is a grazing ground for bison, deer, elk, and moose. along with other wildlife. Coming from jackson its about a 15min drive from town. the street is on your right. I would go slow use the pullouts if traffic is behind you. Use binoculars if you have them. You never know what you may see. On our first day we saw a herd of bison just off the street. the second time nothing.
The morman row area is where you will find the barn and home form the early settlers. The buildings are keep from falling down but nothing elce. Just behind the barn is the classic photo spot the the jagged teton range . there is a little stream here that has fallen trees to allow you to cross. This was IMO the best spot to get your picture.
There is not much room for parking here and the area available is filled with pot holes and i mean big ones. Be careful how you park your car. An rv is not recomended .
The drive is a scenic one and you should allow 45 min to an hour to tour it.
Also be advised there are no rest areas here aside from the general store by the campground

A great ride through the valley surrounding Jackson Hole. We didn't see many antelope, however it adjoins Morman Row where one can see some fabulous old barns with the great backdrop of the Grand Tetons!

Watch the Bison stroll in and watch the sunrise on mormon row. Take a camera and a tripod and wait for the sun to come up. It's like a natural light show watching the sunrise on the Tetons and the cabins

The sweeping plains carry your eye to the mountains beyond and contain herds of buffalo and antelope in their natural habitat. So peaceful and yet stimulating.
