“Awesome morning ride!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

My husband and I visited Jackson for a ski trip at the end of March. It was our first time there and I had seen the elk refuge on our drive into town from the airport so I was really excited to see the elk up close. We went to the visitors center on a Tuesday morning to purchase our tickets. Adults were $18 each and included transportation from the visitor's center to the elk refuge via bus and then the sleigh ride out into the refuge. Our trip was on a wagon as their wasn't enough snow on the ground for a sleigh.

The horse-drawn wagon, complete with wool blankets, takes you right into the middle of the elk herd. The elk just hang out, and in some cases almost pose for pictures, and don't seem to mind the horses at all. Our guide, Jordan, was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable answering all of our questions.

Bring your binoculars because we also got an opportunity to see a coyote and bison. You can also visit with the horses afterwards. It was a great way to spend the morning and I highly recommend to anyone on a winter trip to Jackson.

“Must See!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

This is a "must see" for any trip to Jackson Hole. This excursion fantastic and was second only to our guided snowmobile tour of Yellowstone. Don't pass this one up. It's well worth your time.

“Wonderful ride”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

What an interesting and beautiful ride!! The snow was gone off the ground, but the snow capped Tetons in the background were amazing! We had a great guide,Lynn, who was such a good storyteller and so full of information about the elks and the area.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be up close to the thousands of elk that seek refuge here during the winter. We will definitely be back for the tour again.

“Good family experience.........”

Wagon and driver take you into the Elk herd numbering several thousands. Drivers are knowledgeable about the Elk and the refuge. Also, accommodating for picture taking.
Cost $18 plus tip for the wagon driver(optional).
