What a delightful treat in an area devoted to enjoying the outdoors! It's natural architecture is set into the hillside between Jackson Hole and the airport. Especially worth seeing are the sculpture garden/trail and the National Geographic retrospective of the West. The museum also includes a more extensive than usual cafe overlooking the National Elk Refuge.

This place is great. The night we went it was really busy. But it was worth it. The sculptures, the artwork show cases some of the best western artists in the world. The view from the Museum over looks the Elk Refuge and we watched as helicopters fought a little wild fire across the valley.

This an expensive diversion at $12 per person, but we arrived at 4pm and got a BOGO discount from the nice woman at the desk. One hour is adequate, but there is some great art here, including some older European artists' paintings and Bodmer and Audobon prints.

The art and sculptures were beautiful but the photos were my favorites especially the photos from the early 1900s.

Just a few bronze outside exhibits get your attention they are very nicely done and understated. When you enter this museum you completely lose tract of time as you visit each exhibit. Worth the small price.
