“Lovely, Restful, Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

This hotel is a lovely spot in the middle of Jackson, a great spot from which you can walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are beautifully decorated in an UNDERSTATED western theme-leather chairs, wood-hewn poster beds, subtle cowboy quilts, faux-suede decorative pillows, faux-hide lamps. Normally I'd be grossed out by a stuffed bear on my bed in an upscale hotel, but even the bear looks right and welcoming. It's super cozy and elegant. Amenities are great. Staff is friendly, lobby is gorgeous. Highest recommendation for sure-don't hesitate!

Room Tip: Upper floor is quieter!

This hotel is located right downtown, just a block from the town square. It is convenient to all of the shops, restaurants, art galleries and museums in Jackson. Despite being a historic hotel, this place was completely rebuilt after a disasterous fire in the 80s and has been updated and remodeled several times since then.

We have stayed here four times now and have never been disappointed in the hotel or the service. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. It is a wonderful place to stay. The on-site restaurant is very good as is the bar food in the Silver Dollar Bar. Not to be missed is the Snake River Grill, located just a few blocks away.

This hotel is in a great spot to really enjoy the town. The rooms are very nice and clean. The bar was busy and we had received good prompt service. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, offering suggestions on places to eat. We got a good rate because it was off season when we stayed. I recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Jackson.

The Wort Hotel is an historic landmark. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. There was even a large, stuffed bear on the king-sized poster bed. The furnishings in the lobby were spectacular. The Silver Dollar saloon attached to the hotel was such a fun place! The bar is an "S" shaped and is covered in plexiglass. Underneath the plexiglass are hundreds of old silver dollars!!!

The Wort Hotel is in a great location in Jackson/Jackson Hole. It is a short walk to "downtown." And it is only about 30 minutes to one of the most beautiful places in the world...Yellowstone National Park.

The hotel is not a "motel," but you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, you will not regret it.

Room Tip: I would avoid rooms on the ground floor next to the sidewalk. There is a lot of noise along there d...

A nice hotel with very good food but very expensive. Right down town and close to everything, including shopping. Staff was attentive. Some rooms have large log beds. Not sure we'd stay again if we were to go there again.

My wife and I stayed four nights at The Wort in October 2012. Because it was the off-season, we thought the room was actually a good value for the quality of the hotel. They have done a wonderful job maintaining the character of the hotel while keeping the rooms updated and first-class. The hotel is perfectly located to walk anywhere downtown. The front desk staff was friendly with great recommendations for restaurants, etc. Also, the restaurant and bar downstair were awesome for both the food quality and beer selection, which was telling by the number of locals there every night. One drawback was the noise from dump trucks early in the morning across the street, but obviously this is a byproduct of staying downtown and is not the hotels fault.

Had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights for a work conference and thoroughly enjoyed it. Located right in the heart of downtown Jackson Hole close to shopping and restaurants.

Check in: Fast, courteous, and even though my room wasn't available since I was there before the stated 4p check in bellman appeared and took my bag to store while I headed to the restaurant for lunch. I couldn't even reach the restaurant and my room was ready! Bellman reappeared and took me to my room. Professional, courteous and wished me a nice stay after bringing in my bag.

Lobby: A small, downtown hotel but so much old world charm and local character everywhere you really feel part of the surrounding country. Beautiful wood everywhere, nice staircase leading to the upstairs rooms, lobby fireplace with huge (and real) mounted either bison, moose, etc. heads and these seating areas are on both floors.

Room: well sized, with desk, 2 sitting chairs with floor/reading lamp, bed frames were made of real timber and both were queen sized with multiple pillows, throws and nicer comforters. Armoire had newer flat screen, and small fridge. Bathroom fixtures were definitely newer as well with a vanity in the bathroom and one outside it so 2 could get ready at the same time. Closet had 2 nice robes.

My first impression upon entering the room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The pictures, beds, furniture evoked the feeling of being in the country, There was even a cute teddy bear on the one bed holding a small sign about conserving water and linens.

Restaurant/bar: right off the lobby. Again, lots of local flair with both a full bar and tables for dining with TVs carrying various sports, ESPN, etc. background music nice. tables and floor clean. Waitress was at my table in just a few moments and friendly. menu had nice local options as well as the standard fare. I had a chicken salad wrap and it was excellent. Arrived in about 10 minutes and waitress was back several times to check on me.

Gym: The only disappointment of my stay. in such a beautiful area I can understand why you'd never want to workout inside but being there for a conf. with full days I didn't have the luxury to go outside. Being a runner used one of the 2 treadmills they had. They were older vintage and both had seen better days. They needed their belts tightened as they slipped and seemed rickety as you ran. Elliptical seemed of the same vintage. Gym overall though was clean, had nice towels, temp was good, had a flat screen, water cooler, and next to it were 2 hot tubs.

Check out: fast, efficient and courteous. bill was correct.

maid service: I was out my first night for dinner with colleagues and there was a turn down service, with a chocolate let and nice music on when i came back. Very nice touch that spoke to the quality and service of my overall experience.

Highly recommend you give them a try on your next stay in Jackson Hole.

Room Tip: My first time in Jackson Hole/Wyoming so be ready for the incredible mountains that surround the tow...
