“Decent place to stay right downtown.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

It was clean, reasonably priced, decent amount of space and nice bathroom. Nice to have a fridge & microwave. BUT, it was very noisy. There's a busy road on both sides of the hotel, and the hotel next door's extremely noisy outdoor air conditioning unit ran all night. We both had to sleep with ear plugs. That was the major downside. We did like being walking distance to town.

Room Tip: The 400 numbered rooms back up to another hotel whose outdoor a/c unit is VERY loud and runs all nig...

Depending on the time of year, bieng a downtown property, it can be a bit noisey. I am happy to report that we have silenced the vent on the property next door and our return guests are commenting on the improvement. Hope to see you again soon.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June, 2013. When we opened the door we were in awe. The suite was actually like a small apartment! It was amazing. There was some construction going on in front of the hotel but when the door was shut you couldn't even hear it. So totally loved it and can't wait to go back.

Happy to hear you loved your room. Our suites are spacious and well positioned off the road. When traveling with children or for extended periods it's nice to have a kitchen for a home cooked meal. See you again on your next visit.

Stayed here one night in Jackson on the way to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Clean, spacious room (looked great for ski trips in winter with kitchen and fireplace). Pool and hot tub were nice. Lots of hustling staff around. Easy short walk to main dining and shopping area. Close to Snake River activities like rafting and fishing. Short drive outside town to fantastic mountain scenery. There are several nice places to stay in Jackson - this lodge probably is not the very best but still very good.

I recently stayed at the Jackson Hole Lodge with my 11 and 12 year olds. We are from the east coast and we stayed at JHL hotel twice: first for a couple of nights as we began our summer vacation in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and then for a night at the end of our trip as we prepared to head back east from Jackson.

We could not imagine a better way to start or finish such an amazing trip.

While the rooms at the Jackson Hole Lodge are pretty basic (they met all of our needs), the location is perfect with the center of town being a quick 5-minute walk, the indoor pool/spa facility was awesome and more than anything the staff at the hotel were truly unbelievable – making us consistently feel as though we were the most important guests to ever stay there.

It may be a while before we are back in Jackson, but rest assured because of our experience there it will be the only place we look to stay in that area and it is certainly at the top of our recommendation list for anyone we know traveling to Jackson.

Jackson Hole Lodge – well done!!!

This a late review from our summer road trip 2012. We pulled into the hotel and were greeted by the desk clerk who was very nice. The office was also very nice. The hotel was full, as people were lining up behind us, and no rooms were available. It turned out there were more than one building, and our room happen to be in a rear building. Parking was tight, and when we found our room, it was the last at the end of a long dilapidated porch, filled with teenagers hanging out most of the way.
The room was decorated rustic/western which I guess separates it from the chain hotels. The room smelled either of old food, or wet mops. Since there were no other rooms available, the desk clerk gave us a can of room deoderizer, with about 2 squirts left.
The hotel was convenient, being a short walk to town. We stayed a second night, and on returning the room was nicely cleaned, but the musty smell returned during the evening.
The WIFI signal was very poor and intermittent.

Sorry about that musty smell and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Summer is our peak season with hotel occupancy running at nearly 100% with rooms changing out daily. I have shared your comments with our executive housekeeper so we may all be more aware and proactive.

Location: a few blocks walk to downtown

Room Choice: Standard Lodge Room w/2 Queen Beds - view on the website at http://www.jacksonholelodge.com/accommodations/rooms.php

Room Decor: 60's style; appears they tried to update but left the 60's lamp hooks in the ceiling and all the room trim was 60's pine boards

Room Floor: located on the 2nd floor; posted signs on the balcony to not lean on the railing; some of the railing was rotting

Room Bath: tiny bathroom (includes stool and tub/shower)

Room Sink: located outside the bathroom and had a squeaky faucet
* noticed on the website (as of 8/11/13) that the picture of the sink/basin area (for Room Choice noted above) is gravely distorted; it is shown much wider than what is actually in the room; the picture should be displayed on the website in a narrower frame; view a more accurate picture at https://gc.synxis.com/hotel/11025/Images/Room/lodge_bathroom.jpg )

Room Rate: our rate could have been more aligned with our 60's style décor

Room TV: flat panel with basic reception (not High Definition)

Summary: great location; need to fix faucet, website sink/basin picture and balcony railings

Recommendation: for a multiple night stay, a suite may be a better option for space, amenities and decor

I think your review is spot on and I thank you for taking the time to post it on TripAdvisor. We use photography to represent our rooms and amenities in their best light and would not intentially mislead the viewer. I agree with your suggestion of booking a larger suite for an extended stay. Hope to meet you on a future trip.

Just back from a trip to Jackson and Yellowstone, and stayed at the Jackson Hole Lodge for 4 nights with my husband and two teen daughters. The hotel has a great location, within easy walking distance to town, as well as other spots up and down Broadway. Parking and traffic in Jackson is a mess, so being able to leave the car and walk was wonderful. The kids loved the pool and hot tubs, and the hotel and room had everything we needed. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is not new and shiny, rather it is comfortably worn. We stayed on the third floor in a condo that had a full kitchen, pull out couch in the living room, and separate bedroom with king bed (super comfy maybe a little soft if you like a harder mattress), two full bathrooms, fireplace, and balcony. While we didn't cook, we loved having the full fridge available. Both tvs had dvd players, and the lobby had a nice selection of dvd's to check out. The a/c in our room was probably the best we've run into in a hotel - when we got there the room was actually cold. The folks working there are super friendly, coffee/tea/hot chocolate are available in the lobby, and they'll be happy to give pointers on things to do. You will hear street noise from this hotel but I don't think there's any getting around that anywhere in Jackson unless you stay someplace really off the beaten path. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Third floor (but there is no elevator, so the stairs give a pretty good work out at the higher altit...

Happy to hear everything worked out for you and your family. We're not the newest hotel on the block, however we take great pride in our "comfortably worn" accommodations. The majority of our business comes word of mouth and for that we thank you. See you soon.
