“Pet Friendly and People Friendly”

Friendly staff, very clean room. Best smelling soap of any hotel including the Grand Hyatt. Sugar & Citrus scented. We stayed here on our way from Maryland to California with our dogs. Room with queen size bed was small but cozy and more importantly clean. A/c worked well.

This Comfort Inn is located on a main road near an I-80 exit. There are gas stations, restaurants and other chain hotels at this same end of town. It was a week night so there was no noise from the street of commercial properties that share the same parking lot. We were in a room on the second floor, facing the main road rather than I-80, so we were not bothered by any noise from the interstate.

There is no elevator, and the entry to the second floor is a standard doorway opening, so we felt like we had long walks to get up and down to the lobby; it involved a bit more twists and turns to get there than usual. But the staff is nice and helpful, pool is okay and dinner at the restaurant Dello Fest, a few yards away, was quite tasty and well prepared. We also hit a few balls at a golf course and driving range less than a mile away. The expanded continental breakfast was good.

This was the first hotel we stayed as my family and I embarked on a 2 week long road trip covering all of the Western states. It was definitely one of the WORST places we stayed in. Only reason we chose this place was its location (as we headed towards Yellowstone) and its pet-friendliness (we initially had planned on traveling with our small dog, but decided not to after all). When we decided not to take our pet, we tried to change the reservation via phone multiple times trying to inform that we won't have our pet with us and that we would prefer a non-pet room. However, their phone line was dysfunctional! Every time I called the front desk, a lady would pick up the phone and say hello and then hang up!! I tried calling from a different phone, but the same response. I had to call the main choice hotel line to make the change, but when we got to the hotel, the change was not in the system!! And the front desk lady was not friendly at all!

Due to my large family, we had requested for a 3 double bed room. As soon as we walked in, we were overwhelmed by a cheap bathroom perfume/spray smell! We had to open all the windows to ventilate! And we realized that our room was right next to the busy interstate! The a/c didn't work well! the beds were HORRIBLE!!!

Overall, after a long day of travel, it definitely was not a place to wind down and rest! I do not recommend this place at all.

I've stayed in hundreds of Choice Hotels all across the US and while this wasn't exactly one of my favorite stays it wasn't one of the worst either. This hotel is fine for passing through town but I definitely wouldn't want to spend too much time here.

My biggest problems with the hotel were first the location, it sits right along side the Interstate and you get a LOT of traffic noise. Not only that but as another reviewer mentioned you get a lot of people noise as well. This hotel shares a parking lot with a sports bar and an adult video shop so you have loud drunks from the bar and the truckers park behind the porn shop and leave their engines running all night so you get the noise and vibrations from their trucks as well.

This combined with truly some of the worst hotel beds I've ever encountered, besides Extended Stay America beds that is, meant that I got a pretty lousy nights sleep. I realize their are some people who enjoy a super firm mattress, however, I'm not one of those people. These mattresses were border-line torture devices as far as I am concerned, I got an awful nights sleep.

Beyond those 2 things though I found the hotel to be fairly decent, the room was very clean, the Internet worked well and was reasonably quick, I had a microwave and fridge which was nice. The only thing I didn't care for about the room itself was that the sink was out in the sleeping area and not in the bathroom, this is very typical in older properties but I personally don't like it as you get no privacy.

All in all this hotel was marginal at best. They display their Choice Hotels Gold Award winning banner but I really didn't see where they went above and beyond any other Choice Hotels and believe me I've stayed in a TON of them. Also, as with pretty much every other hotel across I-80 from North Platte, NE to Utah this hotel was expensive for what you get and not a particularly good value .

I'd recommend this hotel as a comfortable, safe, hotel for family road trips, particularly if you want in-room fridge and microwave and an indoor pool to blow off some steam with the children.

The hotel is clean and well-kept in a wide open, well-lit area with several hotels and restaurants. The room had comfortable beds, refrigerator and microwave, and we heard no street noise, nor anything from any of the other rooms in our ground floor room, though there were quite a few people in the hotel.

I spoke with the general manager, who has been here about a year, when we checked in. She was very friendly, recommending TC's Steak and Seafood as a kid-friendly steak restaurant. My ten-year-old son and I walked behind the adult theme store that is between the hotel to TC's, had a great steak, and returned to the hotel so he could grab a cookie from the lobby. Great, quiet stay in a hotel that had everything we needed, plus friendly service at a good price.
