Pam and I have stayed with Susan and Arthur multiple times and it has always been a wonderful experience. The Elk Mt. Hotel provides the kind of lodging, dining and friendly personal attention that you dream about but but typically rarely or never find. This happens to be so true that we recently arranged to meet friends at the hotel for a "surprise" stay. What a surprise it was to our friends from New Hampshire to find such quality in a tiny WY town.

I could not have been happier with the facility. Susan and Arthur made everyone feel welcome. Everything was set up ahead of time. Our trainer, Beverly, was allowed access to the conference area the evening before the training, which she said was a "big help". Our price for the conference included the room along with a morning and afternoon snack. We made prior arrangements to have lunch provided for all attendees. Everyone raved about not just the beauty of the location and cleanliness of the accommodations, but also the hospitality and wonderful food. Susan made it easy to plan a destination training for staff from around our vast county. Everyone felt it was well worth the drive. We will be returning for future trainings/programs.

Room Tip: I don't think you can choose a "bad" room at this facility.

We are Dieter and Rita Schneider from Broomfield, CO and we just returned from one of the most memorable anniversary getaway weekends in our 31 years of marriage. The hotel was fabulous, our room beautiful and the food excellent. Most of all, one can't imagine more gracious and thoughtful hosts than Susan and Arthur. If anyone is seeking a wonderful, quiet, secluded experience and a trip back in time, this is your place. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

This historic 12-bedroom hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are better than they look on the web site. Super clean and finished to a high standard of quality, this is one of the best authentic western-style hotels I have stayed in. In addition, it is situated right next to the Medicine Bow River, in the quirky and uber-small town of Elk Mountain.

The owners, Susan and Arthur, are lovely. Susan is a cordon-bleu trained chef, and it shows. Dinner was a wonderful surprise with carefully balanced flavors and personal attention. Even if you can't stay the night or the weekend, stop by for lunch or dinner. This is the best food in a 100 mile radius, I'll bet on it any day. Maybe a 200-mile radius.

I liked this place so much I almost didn't want to share the secret!

I stayed during the off season which is a time I don't expect hotels to be at their best - but Susan and Arthur went out of their way to make me comfortable - even printed some paperwork for me that I'd left at home. Very friendly.

Susan & Arthur do a fantastic job at everything. We go every Valentines holiday for the past 4 years & have never been disappointed with anything. The food is out of this world! The French toast breakfast is to die for!

Susan and Arthur are more than keepers of an immaculate hotel or purveyors of the best meal one can receive in Wyoming. They quickly become your guides to life in a different time when individual care and attention to detail were provided in such an effortless manner, one could take for granted being pampered.

Be prepared to truly relax and enjoy yourself. Hope for some time to spend with your hosts - travelers of Africa, the middle east and Asia now proud of their Wyoming home.

Room Tip: The suites are cozy and beautiful.
