Although we only stayed one night here, the staff treated us like we would be with them all week. Warm and welcoming.

Our cabin was ready at the appointed time, CLEAN, and included everything mentioned. The grounds were nice, the lodge puppies friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

We had breakfast in the dining room the next morning and although the server had maybe a few too many tables she was kind and attentive, all of our food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious.

2 week vacation which included Yellowstone......chose the Shoshone Lodge because of great reviews and close proximity to Yellowstone and we where not disappointed at all. First of all the location is breathtaking. Just walking around their area is beautiful......cannot say enough about the owners and everyone that worked there. They also seemed to really care about your stay and comfort. The food in the lodge was great.......Prime Rib night our first night there. Our cabin was clean and comfortable.
Prices very reasonable. They did have a lot of good looking horses but that was not something we where interested in. Breakfast was great with the best tasting pancakes ever. They packed lunch for us on our trips in to Yellowstone and they tasted great. Can you tell I miss it. All I can say is just go!!!!!!

We spent 3 days in a cabin with kitchen, cozy and roomy. The cabins are close one to the other, but oriented in such a way it's not a real problem.
Nice rides if you like horseriding. Coming after a stay in Yellowstone, where the concessionnaire food was terrible, we also found the Shoshone dinners to be delicious. Simple, no fuss dishes, but tasty and well prepared.
The place is not particularly cheap, but in terms of price for value it remains quite reasonnable.
One little note: though it is, legally speaking, in Cody, it is about 1 hour drive west of Cody downtown, and 3 miles from the Yellowstone east entrance. So perfect place in the countryside, but not the best one if you have things to do downtown mostly.

Our family reunion of 28, in every age group, all enjoyed the mountain setting, rushing creek, buttermilk pancakes and the friendly staff. The cute wranglers guided us for a cowboy breakfast on the mountain; even 80-year-old grandma rode. The road construction is finished, so there are no delays getting into Yellowstone; being only three miles outside the east entrance, many of us visited the park several times during our week. We plan to stay again in the fall to fish the North fork of the Shoshone, just a nice walk down the hill.

We (all 10 of us) enjoyed our time in a wilderness area in comfortable style in a clean, roomy cabin. The folks here are great, good food; the kids really enjoyed the horseback riding. Highly recommended - definitely want to come back.

We just returned from a 12 day visit to Jackson, Grand Tetons and Cody. This was my favorite place to stay overnight and like some reviews, I wish I could have stayed longer! The cabins were very cozy and comfortable - I walked right in and feel asleep, tired from our long drive. The grounds are so pretty, with the streams and river running, which we could hear from our cabin. Our children, ages 7 and 11 really enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the evening around the community campfire, playing horseshoe toss, darts and a bean bag toss - games that were just casually setup around the campfire area. We spent a couple of fun hours just being outside until the sun went down.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and so helpful with our children. Breakfast was quick, well-priced and SO GOOD! I am still thinking of the thick slices of bacon I had that morning before we left! We also did the horseback riding and it was the most beautiful trail ride I have ever experienced, riding through the mountains with the stream below. I even glimpsed a deer running through the trees on our way back.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. I also did not realize it was so close to the East Yellowstone entrance - it's actually a good base for exploring the Yellowstone area, too!

A great place to stay if you are planning on visiting Yellowstone. The cabins are rustic and clean. The rockers on the front porch are great. I can't say enough about the food. We ate there three nights and enjoyed every meal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hanging out in the Lodge at night is fun.
