Friend and I travelled to Wyoming for a fall visit. Our favorite stop was Shoshone Lodge and cabins. The staff was friendly and helpful, everyone that works at the lodge helped to create a family-like atmosphere. Staff members brought out guitars in the evening and played and sang around the fire. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. Loved our front porch where one could enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening. The lodge restaurant puts out good food. I look forward to returning and spending more time here.

THe place is great, the hosts are warm and the food is great too! The place is around an hour from Cody which is a great city to go for shopping, Rodeo shows, eating and phptography. The other side - East Yellowstone Entrance is around 30-40 mins away. Grand Teton is around 3-3.5 hrs from this place.

The rooms are nice and offer a great place for an extended family or friends to stay. Be sure to try food at their restaurant. Its really good and reasoably priced. There are not many restaurants nearby so make sure you get your food before 10pm else, Cody is the place to go. There's also a place for a common campfire where you can enjoy and have drinks. The woody rustic feel adds to the charm of this place. Overall, its a decent place to stay with family and friends.

This was every outdoor gal's dream stay. As a single woman I was never treated better nor felt safer. The owner and his right hand man picked me up at the Cody airport (44 miles from lodge) and took me to lunch before picking up a few supplies in town. The lodge and cabins were picture perfect, clean and quiet. All amenities for a solo traveler were on sight. A four hour - (12 mile) trail ride, yellowstone caravan sight seeing tours and delicious meals served at the lodge. Travelers came as far as 75 miles for wknd dining. Don't expect the Ritz, this is cowboy country with a evening bon fire and wranglers rope practice. Expect to see moose, elk, mule deer, buffalo, and a black bear wandering around the perimeter. Bring your boots and a cowgirl attitude. Highly recommend to families with children for a wonderful outdoor educational experience and historical perspective about Buffalo BIll Cody and Yellowstone National Park. (September best month -less tourists & Fall colors).

Room Tip: Solo travelers choose the Elks room.

This was our fourth visit to Shoshone Lodge; the staff are so warm and friendly, it feels like coming home when we come here! We occupied Clearwater Cabin this time which was a lovely, spacious, one room cabin with a kitchen, which was very useful. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and shower; it was very comfortable and very clean. We loved sitting on the swing seat or on the rockers on the porch and around the campfire lit in the evening. The lodge serves up fantastic breakfasts and dinners at very resonable costs and you just can't beat the atmosphere. This is an extremely well run operation with great staff. We will be coming back!!

We had a cabin with two queen beds. The cabin was clean, but it was very small, not really big enough for two queen beds. There was no drawers to unpack your suitcase and the bathroom is really small. The shower worked great and had plenty of hot water, but there is no where in the bathroom to put your personals. The service at the restaurant in the lodge was excellent. The food was good and good portions. Really good bread pudding and cherry pie. Their ribeye lacked the seared grilled taste or look but was cooked properly. The prime rib was very good. Super friendly staff and really good service from all of the employees, but the cabin was simply too small and lack a sitting area or anywhere to unpack your belongings, so have to rate it a three overall.

Room Tip: Be sure you know what size the cabin is before you book it to be sure you have the room you need for...

First, they gave away our room to a guest that wanted to stay an additional night and put us in a ridiculously small 2 bedroom cabin where the bathroom was so small and tight that a full grown man would not be able to sit on the toilet. The cabin was 2 cramped bedrooms with a bed in each. No other sitting options except for a small chair and desk. The mattress sagged in the middle and you would roll to the center of the bed. As I was sitting on the bed, I found a flea on my leg. The property does allow pets in the cabins and it is obvious that they do not fumigate between guests. It was hard to sleep knowing that there might be more fleas in the bed. And to top it all off, our cabin ran out of hot water after 10 minutes in the morning. Which meant that one of us had a hot shower and the other had a cold one. Out of the 6 hotels/lodges we stayed at during our trip to Yellowstone, this was by far the worst. The Super 8 in Cooke City was even nicer! Would not recommend this facility.

We live nearby and we have eaten here twice recently. The food has been excellent both times. There is a Prime rib special on Saturdays and the Prime was just right. We each took half home for a meal the next day. Service has been the best we have had in the area. All the staff was friendly and helpful.
Although we have not stayed in the cabins, I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends or family visiting the area. The cabins appear neat and clean from the outside, in better condition than others in the area. In the evening there is a small campfire with a pleasant sitting area for visiting around the fire and making S'mores.
