“Great place to stay”
Reviewed September 13, 2009

My wife and I stopped here from 25th Aug - 28th Aug and could not fault the accommadation at all. The hotel is well situated to allow easy access to everything you want to do in Cody and the surrounding area. The room was large and spacious and the beds comfortable to sleep in, the breakfast was adequate and amongst the best we had in our three week holiday. The biggest plus for this hotel was it staff, so friendly and helpful and their advice was always spot on and ensured we made the most of our stay in the area.
Unlike other guest we did not have a noisy stay, you do hear doors banging shut but we have found you get this at every hotel in USA as it would seem that it is a national past time not to shut the door but just to let it go slam.
If we had one point to raise it is that the door opens in to the room directly to the beds with no obstructions so you have to be careful what you are doing or not wearing when somebody comes back with coffee.

We chose this hotel early on in our planning due to good feedback on this site and a reasonable rate. If you booked before the end of April, you got a 20% discount, if I remember correctly. We paid $126 per night for a room with 2 logpole queen beds, microwave, fridge, and free continental breakfast.

We arrived before the 3 p.m. check-in time, and unfortunately, our room was not ready. The desk clerk was very accomodating and gave us a map of the area and made several dining recommendations. He checked us in but couldn't give us our room keys. He said we could return around 3 p.m. and would be able to get our keys. In the meantime, we went to the local Walmart for supplies. We were able to check in by 3:15 p.m. We asked for a first floor room, as there is no elevator, and our request was pleasantly honored. The housekeeping staff actually gave us our keys and apologized for the slight delay. We found all the staff very professional.

Upon entering the room, we were quite pleased with our findings. The room was very clean and modern and had a great rustic ambiance. The logpole beds provided an old west feel despite modern touches. The mattresses and pillows were the most comfortable of our 10 day trip by far.

The facility also has an outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, laundry, and fitness center. Our daughter only swam briefly, as it was stormy both days we were there. A computer with internet access is located in the lobby.

The hotel is very convenient to all Cody attractions including the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and rodeo. We could be back to our hotel in no more than 10 minutes.

The continental breakfast was pretty well stocked with the usual carbs including English muffins, bagels, cereal, juice, and toast. Virginia, the morning desk clerk, did a great job manning the front desk and breakfast area. She was quick to wipe down tables and keep things well stocked, while checking people out. She was definitely a multi-tasker.

The breakfast area does get crowded, so you might have to wait for a table or take your breakfast back to your room. We had a small table and chairs in our room.

Several reviews on this site reveal this is a "noisy" hotel with thin walls. I have to agree that you do hear doors slamming and loud children (and adults, for that matter) easily. Although it was the most comfortable hotel we stayed in, it was also the noisiest. However, it wasn't that bad for us, as we were up early ready to tackle the day. The noise factor would not deter me from staying here. If you are looking for a place to sleep in, this probably isn't it. However, to me, the comfort level and amenities more than made up for the noise.

I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a modern hotel with several amenities close to Cody attractions.

We booked 3 rooms and they were all comfortable and clean. We stayed for two nights. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just what we usually eat for breakfast. Like the other reviews, I did hear some doors closing but it was in the morning hours when we were ready to get started for the day.

Our family of 4 stayed here one night on the way to Yellowstone National Park. The room was VERY clean and had everything we needed: fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron, ironing board etc. It was rather large for a motel room as well.

The kids loved the decor in the room which included headboards and chairs made from what appeared to be logs, but was tastefully done. The decor in the lobby and breakfast area also set the mood for our Western adventure.

Breakfast the next morning was just right for a quick bite before hitting the road.

The staff was friendly and the price was competative. The only downside is that we were on the second floor and there is no elevator.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone! Fun, Friendly, CLEAN, family hotel.

We were in Cody for 3 nights for a wedding and booked a lovely, large room at the Legacy. Until 5:00 a.m., we were thrilled with the location and price, but from early morning on, the door slamming drove me crazy. That is really the only downside to this hotel. If you're a heavy sleeper or can use ear plugs, go for it! A shout out to Deb for her excellent customer service---she was fantastic!

As many others have said, the inn is very loud. We were on the first floor near the highway (so a long ways away from the lobby) and we could hear every door slam shut on our floor. Traffic noise was so-so. We travel with earplugs, but without them it would be a rough night. Otherwise we found the room clean, nicely appointed and spacious. I especially appreciated the large table for both computing and eating (so many inns have cramped little tables.) The bed was medium comfortable. Wi-fi worked well. Our desk clerk was gracious and helpful. Breakfast wasn't as good as many inns so we supplemented with fresh fruit and yogurt from Albertsons across the street. We paid $150 for a night here which is about 75% overpriced.
