Peters was just around the corner from the Chamberlin Inn and was highly recommended by the owners of the inn. Not a fancy eatery, but breakfast was another matter. When you see the locals coming in for breakfast you know you can't go wrong.

I have been to Peter's numerous times and they never disappoint. The food is great and the sandwiches are known for having plenty of meat and veggies (unlike the chains). The location is perfect for walking around downtown and the service is quick and friendly.

Peter is well known in Cody & well liked especially with the school kids since it is near the school. The service is very fast & professional. The food is good there so is the ice cream!

We went here for a late breakfast two days in a row. Arrived around 11:30. Great timing - after the breakfast and before the lunch crowd. The elderly gentleman who took our order first seemed to be a little grumpy. But he warmed up during our order, and turned out to be a very nice, attentive and funny host during our stay. His name was Jim, and he later gave us two cookbooks as a memory which we highly appreciated, and a cookie for my two year old. Thank you Jim!

The breakfast was tasty. The first day we had French Toast and scrambled eggs with a biscuit, potatoes, bacon and toast. The portions were quite big, especially the one with the potatoes. The second time I had French Toast again, pancakes, and my mom a veggie omelette with toast and potatoes. Coffee was good, and the Latte was very good. We also had pastries to go and enjoyed them.

The prices were very reasonable!
What was also great was a kids play section (!) and a "library" with books and magazines to read during your stay. Fantastic idea!
It is not a fancy place, has more the feeling of a local joint, and it was packed at lunch time both days.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a casual atmosphere and good homemade cooking.

we stopped in Peters Cafe twice for box lunch to take into Yellowstone Park. Both times the lunches were excellent--sandwich,drink,cookie or brownie(home made)and bag of chips. This was by far the smartest thing we did on our visits into the park. The service was great and servers very friendly. If your in Cody make sure you stop into Peters---Greg
