I don't think anybody would pretend to eat here just because of the food. It's ok, average, but overpriced for the quality. There are many better places to eat in Cody if all you want to do is eat.
Its the history of the place with its original bar given as a gift from Queen Victoria that appeals to tourist just passing through. There's other bars in the place where locals hang out. We had a great Friday night here with some locals who are always willing to talk to strangers with a different accent trying out their Harleys for size.

No one helped us at the bar...in fact employees walked away from us even when we asked for a drink. Ironically, the gunslinger actors in the "shoot out" right outside at Irma encouraged the public to buy a meal or drink at the Irma after the street drama. There were only four people at the long bar so another four did not seem like a problem. The buffet looked good but we were so turned off by the lack of attentiveness at the bar, we decided not to stay. The Irma is a landmark so it is too bad that we were so dismissed..I would have liked staying there for a drink and dinner.

We did not have a chance to sample the food, which looked delicious on the buffet. Could not let the opportunity pass though to give a huge shout out to the servers in the bar - great service, generous portions and inexpensive, good house wine. Thank you!

We didn't eat here so can't testify about food quality, but did enjoy a beer in the bar. Waitress was very friendly, free popcorn.
Nice old cowboy bar. Can see that the locals meet & greet here.

We looked for a restaurant in Cody, Wyoming, after a long days drive, and happened on the Irma Restaurant in Cody. The staff was very pleasant and the food good. They had a large buffet, that looked very good, however we both ordered Trout from the menu. My fish smelled a bit fishy when ordered, however with a little lemon and tartar sauce I ate the whole thing and was pleased. Cowboy décor and plenty of cowboys in the restaurant which actually added to the fun of eating here. I'd recommend this place for good food and drinks.
