One night stopover on way to Yellowstone. Clean and well equipped rooms but slightly tired. VERY noisy air-conditioner and rooms not very well soundproofed.
Breakfast was ok but no hot food which is normal at most US Inns.
However at £50 a night you get value for money.

Wow. Real western hospitality. Desk clerk noted our washington DC address and felt moved to. Inform us that "we're republicans out here. We're VERY patriotic." My wife who as a young bride awaited my return from viet nam and later abandoned three careers to follow me abroad on federal service was profoundly insulted as was I at the blatant implication that our residence rendered us less American than the clerk. So why didn't we just walk out? Guaranteed reservation via trip advisor and booking.com and if this establishment is so quick to insult guests, can we really trust them to do the right thing with our credit card. So be warned. Its a tired old place with meager breakfast in the best of circumstances--- if they approve of where you're from.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and had a great experience. The rooms were fine, roomy and clean. The breakfast worked for us. They had hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, good muffins, bagels, fruit, packaged waffles, juice and coffee; just the basics. Cookies were put out in the evening. The pool area was nice and we used the laundry which was $1.50 to wash or dry.
Staff were helpful and helped us pick restaurants. Rooms were kept clean and ready when we returned each day. The location was good and made it easy to get to Yellowstone.

Room Tip: Check in early to get your ideal location.

We selected the Cody Hotel primarily because the rate was favorable. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Our room was away from traffic and other guests in our proximity were quiet. The room was a bit on the smaller side, but not constricting. Good size TV to watch NBA playoffs.

Breakfast was decent, with biscuits and gravy being the main hot attraction. We had breakfast the previous morning at Rocky Mountain Mojoe and the motel offering was not in the same league by any stretch of the imagination.

If you are on a budget, this is a good choice in Cody.

I found this hotel to be a great place to stay. My kids thought the African animals were near and the indoor pool was perfect for cold April weather. They had just opened last week so we went to Americinn next door for breakfast (Owned by same people) and the breakfast was excellent. There was deer in the back of hotel every day eating. No, it is not a luxury hotel but this was perfect for the price. My kids even took home two stuffed lions sold at the front desk. I would stay here again.

we booked the king cody for two nights, just to visit the yellowstone. the east entrance is about 60 min. trip away, this may be too much, but there are no alternatives.

the hotel is cheap (in comparison to others close by), our room (2nd floor) was ok, clean, quit (we hear the nightsbors but not good. microwave and refridgerator work well, the bed (in our case: king bed) was fine, the internet works perfect. the breakfast is small (they offered not so much), this may be ok in this class, in our case we are a little bit dissapointed.

laundry is cheap (1,50 in coins), partly new and works fine (after hiking this is sometimes necessary).

the dead and stuffed animals from africa are nice to see, but no reason to go there or not to go there. nevertheless we will definitively not forget this unique hotel in cody.

to the owner: go ahead with your quality strategy (nothing bad, everythink ok), from my point this is exactly what the one-/two days travellor needs (nothing more, nothing bad).

My wife and I stayed here on our road trip in September. Very nice, clean, hotel with a very good complimentary breakfast. Plus the price is very very reasonable. Especially compared to other places in Cody. This hotel is a little out from downtown but not inconvenient. However, if you are an animal lover you might have a hard time with all of the animal heads in the lobby. If we came back to Cody, we would definitely stay here again.
