You're in Cody. You are going to be eating at the Irma. You might as well watch a gun fight, right? This is a fun little show with pretty much everyone from Buffalo Bill to Rooster Cogburn tossed in. Yeah, it's a little long, but it's fun! The actors have a ball and it's a great way to kick off your night in Cody. Go see it!

The reenactment of a gunfight was great fun. The show is totally entertaining and a lot of fun. The actors sign autographs and pose for photos as well. What fun for all ages.

The gun fight was a bit long (they try to cram too much in and really needs to shave some of the unnecessary scenes off), but funny for children with a hint of political humor for the adults. After reading some of these negative reviews, I think visitors should realize this is a FREE show and these people are NOT actors and you are not at a Disney Show. Take in consideration this is a skit for children…..I was a bit startled, yet amused that some reviewers on here actually expected a Hollywood performance considering this is a FREE performance for children. And they do not sell for an extended amount of time like another reviewer wrote. I think the gentleman mentioned a poster like once at the beginning of the performance. It was fun for my children but I do not recommend this for people with small children who are frightened by loud noises. This is a gunfight and guns make loud sounds. Nothing is more frustrating than to have to listen to some kid scream and cry while you are trying to enjoy a performance.
The cast was good especially the girl who portrayed Ellie from True Grit. Everyone was friendly. One of the salon girls who was in the performance was covered in hickies which was a bit trashy considering she has her pictures made with children nightly.
We dined at the Irma at 4 and this gave us plenty of time to eat before the fight. We paid $2 a chair for front role seats (optional) at 5:30 when they are sitting up, which is cheap to guarantee that your children can see the show (it gets crowded as 6 nears), and went for a walk to walk off our dinner through town. We did have some trouble when we returned from our walk as a couple took our seats, but the staff had placed our name tag on our chairs and ordered the couple to move. Anyone who can avoid a vacation can afford $2 for a chair and it was really disappointing when cheapos raced in and sat on the sidewalk right in front, and I mean inches, from our feet. The staff should not allow this because they blocked the view of children seated (who paid) on the front role. People who are too cheap to pay should have to stand on the side and not block the paying chairs.

As good a reinactment as you can get. The clothing and mannerisms of each gunfighter seemed authentic and was great fun to watch.
