This was the first time we have stayed at a guest ranch. I took lots of novels planning on reading, not riding. The wranglers made me feel comfortable and confident and I enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the rides. We were having a family reunion and there was something for everyone to do, or not do! All activities were well planned. The food is exactly what you'd expect at a ranch in the west, good home cooking. There were a variety of foods served family style. Salads were delicious. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable. We'll definately return in the future.

This was our first dude ranch experience as a family with college-age and pre-teen kids. Overall we were all extremely happy about the setting (amazing landscape, wildlife, scenery, vistas), the choice of activities (horseback riding, hiking and relaxing - fishing was poor but mainly because of the excess stream levels from record snowfall), the accomodation (rustic yet comfy) and the friendliness and availability of staff (managers and wranglers/service staff).

The ranch accomodates up to 30 guests, and we were only 16 that week (usually it is more) so we benefitted from a lot of space and attention. The staff and management are a pleasure to interact with, and they made us feel immediately at ease and part of a community for a week.

The location of 7D is exceptional - the Sunlight Basin is simply unreal. You have to see it. ON the way back to Billings we drove through the Bear Tooth partkway and the 10,000 ft pass, another unbelievable experience.

We only had small complaints about the food. Breakfast was good but the meals were un-imaginative (except for a few times) and too rich, with deserts at every meal that you don't need. So we took on weight despite the active lifestyle of the week and extra-running, which is really down to the food content. I am sure that can be fixed.

My family normally enjoys resort holidays so I was nervous about suggesting a guest (dude) ranch. We returned home about two weeks ago and the entire family still raves about our experience. We will definitely return.

In 2008 the ranch will have operated for 50 years and the experience shows. The place seems to run effortlessly. You could not ask for more gracious hosts than Chuck, Kerry and their little boys Ethan and Eli. The staff, a perfect blend of enthusiastic college students on summer recess and professional wranglers/ranch hands/adventurers, were welcoming, professional and very anxious to satisfy.

The ranch is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The horses are gentle and well-trained. The hiking trails are lovely and there is a fly fishing guide available every day.

The food was excellent, served family style in a cozy dining room. The chef accommodated the vegetarians in our party. We expected days of salad and stir fry and instead were surprised with tofu stuffed peppers, veggie shepherd's pie, veggie crab cakes and much, much more. And don't worry, the meat eaters in our group were equally delighted. Don't miss the desserts...yummy!

The cabins are homey. They are not luxurious but they are clean and comfortable and have all the basic amenities.

Although there were no children in our party, 7D had a planned children's program that seemed to satisfy everyone's needs. On the last day, the children had a mini rodeo to show off their skills as the adults cheered. It was magic, really.

I enthusiastically recommend 7D. Basically, 7D was like camp for grownups. We left with happy memories, new friends, and longing for more in years to come.

The 7D was my family's first experience at a dude ranch. Wow....did we find the best. The people, the staff, the food, the cabins, and of course the views are all outstanding.

This is a FAMILY ranch that is rustic enough to give you the real feel of a western ranch. Yet, the accomodations are comfortable and cozy where you don't have to live like a "bear in the woods".

I loved this place and already miss it. My family travels quite a bit. And I will have to say, nothing has compared to our experience at this ranch. If you are looking for a ranch in wyoming to compliment your Yellowstone/Teton trip, you would be wise to pick the 7D. You won't be sorry.
