nice close in option for camping, hiking, and biking if you're in the Cheyenne area. a lot of options, not too far from home, and reasonably priced

Well laid out, easy to find a great camping spot. Many different hiking/biking/riding trails for many different levels. Reasonably priced. We are from Colorado, but have come up here several times because it's so great!

CGSP has had quite a bit of monetary and physical attention over the past couple of years, including a new trail system (bike trails covered on IMDBs official website), and a welcome center. I love to ride, hike, fish, and kayak this area. Looking forward to putting a sailboat on Crystal, ASAP (Granite allows motorboats, Crystal has motor restrictions).

The Curt Gowdy State Park is located along Wyoming Highway 210, a.k.a. Happy Jack Road that runs from Cheyenne in Laramie County. The altitude of the park is 7.500 feet, equal to 2.300 metres, which are excellent conditions to get in good shape. There are great hiking and bike trails as well as fishing oportunities. The wildlife in the park is magnificent and you may spot moose’s and wolfs, even though the latter are a rare sight. The area is great for camping at designated areas and there are barbeque facilities. I have seen Mother Nature shift in the park from winter, spring, summer and fall and all seasons have a special charm in the park. A weekend in the park is a great experience also for kids in all ages!

I was new to Cheyenne, and not sure what to expect for the Mtb. scene - but very surprised by this trail system. It is really good singletrack, with a lot of options due to the criss-crossing of trails.
