“Worth a visit”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Coming from England we found that just being able to walk into Wyoming State's seat of government quite something. In the short time we were in Cheyenne we developed a respect for this State and this City. It was so special just to wander all around the Capitol Building so freely. The only people who stopped us occasionally were those who wished to point out something of interest. Take a diversion from your planned itinerary and visit this city and this lovely building. It gives you a real sense of the democratic nature of the United States.

“Smaller Building”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

The capitol is open to the public Mon-Fri. The building is well kept and is sized perfectly for the small capitol city. You can take a self-guided tour or you can have a guided tour by appointment.

“Back to the good old times”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

I travel with someone who "collects state capitols" so of course we had to go. Where else could you park directly in front of the Capitol Building, free, and walk into the building with no bag check, metal detectors, sign in, or security check? We wandered the entire building, enjoying the architecture, the art, and the warm welcome. Just terrific! It isn't large or spectacular, but worth the time. I especially appreciated the statues of women engaged in the judicial and political history of Wyoming, the first state to give women voting rights. The Wyoming State is just down the street, so the two make a good combo-stop.

“A historical stop”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Having family who works here, I have had a chance to see the true beauty of this structure. When driving from I-80 or I-25 look towards the East and notice a gold dome standing tall in the sky...that's the Capital Building. When you approach the capital you'll notice a statue of Esther Morris Wyoming's, first female judge, first Governor and a person who pushed for the first for women to vote. Worth seeing:)
