This is located in an old house, past the edge of town. This is not a new, shiny upscale restaurant, but it is clean and decorated in a very old-fashioned country home motif.
Their specialty is fried chicken, and it is delicious. Their steaks and prime rib are also very good. Meals are served with a bottomless, very complete relish tray, salad, potatoes or vegetable, plus biscuits. The mashed potatoes are homemade, as are the biscuits. When we were there last, the dessert was an apple pie, also home-made. There is a full bar.
It is run by a family, we think; the dining room is staffed by an older couple who are just absolutely the nicest people.
This place is a keeper.
