“WOW! A must see.”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

What a place! Favorite of the whole trip. Friendly and informative staff. There interactive displays helped you to appreciate what the various settlers had to endure and conquer. The audio visuals were great. Can't imagine pulling hand carts are walking in the heat the day we visited.

“Travelling into the Unknown”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

As you enter the centre you come face to face with a replica of Independence Rock with copies of some of the names found. There is an audio visual presentation which sets the scene of the lives and times of the pioneers of the 1840s-1890s and there are separate areas on each of the trails explaining all the hardships endured on their journeys into the unknown.

Do not miss visiting here.

“A must visit”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

This is a MUST visit if you visit Casper.

The staff are most helpful and very knowledgable indeed.

With the virtual reality Waggon and Stage Coach (never realised they were so small), you get a real feel for the period.

It is tinged with sadness with the telling of the Hand Cart Companies.

A must visit and a credit to the BLM.

“A Nice Museum”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

enjoyed the video presentation, and the interactive displays. Enjoyed "crossing a river in a covered wagon," and getting to try and work a hand-cart. The stage-coach display was fun, but after riding in a real one have to say it was too comfortable compared to the real thing (the real ones were REALLY cramped, this one was just sorta cramped.) Not too keen on how much emphasis was put on the Mormon Migration... I know it was important and that many moved through this particular area, but felt that there was too much emphasis on that one group when so many groups came through the area. Liked that the center discussed the whole western movement from the perspective of the native Americans (more time could have been spent on that) I really did enjoy the Museum.

“A very nice surprise!”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This museum was excellent. It will keep you and your children engaged and interested. Very hands on. It is worth a visit. It was one of the best museums I've ever been to. I really enjoyed learning about all the early pioneers, and what brought all the different groups west.
