“Excellent value!”
Reviewed June 13, 2011

Spent a night there on a Sunday night in June 2011. Everything was top notch and the best part was that the price was affordable for my group because it was much lower than a typical Hampton. Rooms were very large.

When we were recently on our way back to Colorado after a trip up to Montana for a family wedding, we made it as far as we could while traveling with our two young boys, and decided to stop in Casper. We saw on TripAdvisor that the Hampton Inn & Suites was listed as the #1 hotel in Casper, so we decided to check it out. When I checked the availability I was pleasantly surprised that they had a room at a good rate still available, especially when we took into account the free breakfast and that it appeared to be a nice hotel for this class of hotel.

The front desk help was nice and got us a room right away. When we asked for a crib, she was also quick to get that for us since it was time for our 1 year old to go to bed by the time we got to the hotel. The room itself was just what is expected of this class of hotel room. Had nice, comfortable bed and better bedding than other hotels we have been to recently. A typical flat-panel TV, a nice desk area, and a nice hotel bathroom. They had an indoor pool, a workout room and a business center, but we didn't use any of these on our overnight stay, but they did all look nice. We did enjoy the free breakfast however, which I was VERY pleased with. Most hotels that offer a free breakfast only include the continental type of breakfast that includes cold cereals and pastries with possibly some fruit (read bananas usually). Well, the Hampton provided hot breakfasts in addition to the normal cereal and pastry fair. There was scrambled eggs (these were nothing to write home about), sausage, breakfast potatoes, and other things I can't remember. They had a toaster and various English muffins and toast, etc. The best part for me though, was the waffles! They had two waffle irons and waffle batter all ready to poor in to make a perfect waffle. They also had more fruit than you normally get, yogurt, better drink choices including the hot drinks as well as juices, and a nice seating area to enjoy your meal before hitting the road. Our kids enjoyed the better breakfast before heading out as well, this just started our final day of driving off on a good note.

All-in-all, I would recommend this hotel. It seems to be a great place to stay in Casper, if not the best place, no matter your needs: family, fun, business, etc. Oh yeah, and don't forget the free cookie treat in the evenings when you check in!

Room Tip: Our AAA rate saved us some money on our room!

This hotel has one of the friendliest staffs I have ever seen at any hotel. Even the breakfast staff said Hello. The location of this hotel is convenient to traveling in and out of Casper and it does have a few eating options a short drive or even by walking under the Interstate if you wanted to. This is one of the newer styled Hampton Inns so the rooms are spacious and have just enough furniture in them plus the TV selection was great. The breakfast choices were typically what you'd expect from Hampton Inn. My only issue with the breakfast area was the lack of traditional seating with many of the tables placed in between couches and chairs that belong in a hotel lobby, not a breakfast area. I can't see how for kids this is a great set up and I didn't travel with any children. There was also a long table with high chairs in the breakfast eating area that looked liked it belonged in a palace rather than an area for eating a quick breakfast at a hotel. The price seemed a little high for Casper; I mean it is Wyoming and not Jackson Hole/Teton. The room overall was very clean but there was a weird red ring around the shower head that looked a little nasty as if it was some sort of mildew build up. The pillows were too mushy for me and I had to use the little firm pillow they place on the bed for better support.

We just stayed one night to run the Casper marathon. The rooms were very clean and nice. The AC/heat controls worked well. The only regret was that there was not in-room refrigerator. The beds were comfortable and I slept well.

The lobby area was very nice.

The hotel accomodated the marathoners by arranging for early breakfast (5 AM). We were also given "to go" breakfast bags. That was very nice of management to have for the early morning runners.

When I return to Casper, I will book this hotel again.

Very clean rooms. I have always had good luck staying at a Hampton Inn and this was no exception.

Good solid hotel that's clean with great service. The only down thing is that its kind of expensive. $130 a night for Casper? It seems to be full during the week, so I guess businesses and government keep this place packed. People do get up early, so if you plan to sleep in, bring ear plugs.
