It is just a sub shop, but a sub shop that bakes it's bread fresh daily, makes a mean reuben, hot pastrami, and gives NYC's sandwiches a run for the money. Also, the price cannot be beat. You can have a great lunch for under $5. The cold cut subs are good, but not great. But the combinations of cold cuts subs are very good. The soups are very good on any day.

Overall, it's a great place, great value and great food. There is a reason locals eat here all the time.

Mostly carry out, chain operated sub shop. HOW CAN IT POSSIBLE BE THE # 2 restaurant in Buffalo? I wouldn't even call it a restaurant - its a SUB SHOP, An ordinary sub shop!

Ok, the Subs are fine, maybe even a tad better than Subway, but more expensive. Don't put on your finery and take the little woman for your 25th anniversary. It's a sub shop for heavens sake

Great bread and wonderful toppings. I like that you can choose the size you want, like 6 in, 8 in or such. Worth the extra money and better than Subway.

Step One: Look at the menu. Step Two: Assemble your food in your head. Step Three: Order your food. Step Four: Consume fresh sandwiches which put most sandwich shops & delis to shame, soups which taste like they came out of your grandma's secret recipe stash, and watch the train go around. The Breadboard is an excellent place to have lunch for a reasonable price, and while they aren't $5-footlongs, you get what you pay for: Fresh ingredients, tasty soups and huge sandwiches. Cheaper than the Sagewood, and a lot more tasty food for your buck.

Ordering is a bit unusual - but go straight to the counter and look at the menu first. Figure out what you want then order. Great bread and all the food is fresh. I ordered the veggie with avocado- very nice. Seemed to have difficulty understanding "no cheese". All three of us ordered subs with no cheese yet they all came with cheese. Other than that, the place was a great local lunch stop. Will go back!
