I am so glad that I read the reviews on tripadvisor recommending this drive! It is just as gorgeous as all the previous reviews stated. Our kids enjoyed all the wildlife (we spotted a red fox, several deer, and antelope), the adults enjoyed the majestic scenery and saw several places for future primitive camping trips. This was another tripadvisor "find".

You will not regret it especially if you have been on the interstates for a while. Nonstop "wow' moments. I startled a marmot on the pass when we got out to enjoy the view.

The highway is known as the Sweet 16 and I guess it really was. The views were so awesome all the way to Cody, Wy and we will always have great memories of times shared along the way, like snowball fights in June, in shorts, on the top of a gorgeous mountain.

We drove US Highway 16 from Worland to Buffalo. The temperature started at 50 degrees and dropped to 32 as we experienced whiteout conditions along the way, returning to 50 degrees as we approached Buffalo. The topography was outstanding and we even had to slow to a stop when we saw a Moose on the road ahead of us. The constantly changing views before us made the drive worthwhile despite the unexpected snow.

Two lane road over the Big Horns - so it can get a little slow in the summer following slower traffic, but it gives you a chance to soak in the views. The road goes from the sagebrush and ponderosa pine up through mixed conifers and mountain meadows and down into Ten Sleep Canyon - a beautiful canyon, then through the the salt desert shrub into Worland. You go through the small town of Ten Sleep at the entrance to the canyon (on the west side) The road has been rebuilt in stages so it's much better now than in the past, with pull-outs and wider shoulders.
