My family likes visiting here since few years. We like the place, good food, water park, rooms are clean, lots of fun for the entire family, but its always crowded and lots of noise. over few years this place has worn down as its so busy, to invest in keeping up this place neat and clean would help!

If your idea of a good time involves letting your unruly family run amok, this is the place for you. As your kids run down the hallways, even guests on the floor below will feel how much fun you’re having as floors & walls shake and rumble. And since the condos are long and narrow, your little darlings can romp inside the unit as well. What fun!

For an extra treat, get up early and run your hot tub. Slam the patio doors a few times while you’re at it. Then send the kids to the indoor waterpark; remind them to run down the hall to get there.

Management has thoughtfully provided blaring public address speakers at the outdoor pool and sitting areas, so don’t worry that the beautiful sight of Lake Delton might induce temporary calm; any peaceful feelings will be squashed by screeching Madonna tracks and commercials for resort activities. You can add to the general outdoor mayhem by shouting back and forth to your companions.

Room Tip: The fourth floor units have three bedrooms, so unless you've got a big group, you can't avoid the "overhead elephants" by reserving a room here. Management really needs to be more proactive about keeping kids from running amok. I realize that families are their target demographic, but that doesn't mean it's OK for out-of-control kids to ruin in for everybody else.

This is our 2nd year in a row staying in a 2 bedroom condo at Wilderness on the Lake. We liked it enough last year to come back again, but this year everything seemed just a little better. We had condo 121 right on the patio. We loved eating outside, enjoying the fire pits, grilling and just opening our patio doors to enjoy the music. Last year we were on the 2nd floor, and next time we would request being on the lower level again.

The service was so friendly and the shuttle service is MUCH improved over last year. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for the shuttle bus, the golf cart shuttle at Glacier Canyon or the ultra-fun water taxi across Lake Delton.

The rooms are comfortable and come equipped with everything you need. But I would recommend bringing a couple of your own pans & a good knife. You also need paper towels and laundry detergent (dish soap & detergent) is provided. If you plan on having frozen drinks you'll need your own blender.

The infinity pool is great and the bar there (Loon's Landing) is friendly AND has 2-for-1 specials. Our son is a big fan of the swirl pool. Everything is ultra clean and it feels like a home away from home while you're there. Completely laid back and stress-free vacation. We stay in late August and it is a great value. Prices drop QUITE a lot. And if the weather is bad, there are plenty of indoor activities for all.

Room Tip: You give up a little privacy, but rooms on the first floor open right onto the fun grill & patio area.

Overall: Great place to stay! Lots & lots to do! Three nights was NOT enough to do all of the activities!
Accommodations: We stayed at Wilderness on the Lake in a 2-bedroom condo & there were 9 of us composed of two seperate families... It was perfect! Bathrooms are large. Jacuzzi in screened-in deck offered a great view of lake... Pots & pans & dishes supplied were new and very nice. Oh - the deck seemed to be completely sound-proof. We shut the door a couple of times on the kids & their loud television & we could not hear them @ all... The condos must all be like that - which is rare for a hotel-type environment.. Only complaint about the condo was that it is very dark! But I guess it's because it is a long & narrow condo.. So that is not a big deal!

The waterparks are a long way apart from each other so we had to take shuttles everywhere but our kids were ranging in age from 5 to 16 so they were old enough to do so. All of the kid's favorite was the indoor wave pool... It was tempting not to even be "inside" in the summertime but it was very nice & the kids had a blast!

The staff was awesome! The shuttle bus and water taxi drivers were the best! Prior to booking this vacation, I had read on here that there were a lot of foreigners working there that didn't know English.... People were very negative about that. (I guess they think everyone should be Americans...) I asked one of the staff about that because there were a lot of young workers that had a hard time with English... She explained that they are there because they are studying the hospitality industry in college in their native counties and, because there would never be enough native Wisconsians to fill all of the summertime jobs there, they bring them in to be exposed to our culture sort of like interns. They were all very, very polite! And all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly & understood at least the basics of English... My husband lst his Oakley (expensive) sunglasses in the park... By chance, we checked Lost & Found - they were actually there! Turned in by a lifeguard... They went through 2 or 3 young hands to get to Lost & Found - which is quite amazing! So they are very, very honest people as well!

In addition, the sheer number of lifeguards they have on staff is the best I have ever seen!

FOOD: The food was pretty good... They did have healthy food options like fresh fruit or subs, etc, at each water park... A little overpriced but all water park food is so we expected that. The alcoholic beverages were HIGHLY overpriced ($6 for a beer)... We rented a cabana one of the days -which totally ROCKED - & had a waiting staff bringing us food & drink. I wish I could remember her name because she was very friendly & did a great job! We never ate @ any of the other restaurants because we had a full kitchen in our condo. There are also a lot of grills out on the public deck with clean tables, etc...

The infinity pool is awesome!

All in all, we will come back to this hotel - even though it was expensive - it was worth the price paid. My kids are still talking about it a full month later!

We would go back and hopefully will go back next year!

This is a beautiful resort made up of condos overlooking Lake Delton.

Positives: lake views, fantastic master bedroom and bathroom, well-stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, pool, hot tub, water taxi, lots of water park action at main resort, very pleasant employees, good amount of space in condo for a extended family vacation.

Negatives: fridge in condo takes a long time to cool, you do have to take a shuttle to the main waterparks, waterparks do feel crowded even on weekdays.

I have stayed at Wilderness three times and this is the first time that I felt the waterparks were crowded enough to keep me from riding some of the rides I wanted and from being able to even find a table. In a few cases there were a few slides that they weren't running, which I thought odd considering the crowds.

Some tips: bring paper towels, coffee filters and laundry detergent. These are not provided, but dish soap and dishwasher powder are. Don't put too many warm things in the fridge when you arrive, it will warm up and takes a long time to cool back down.

Overall, this is my resort of choice in the Dells. It just seems like they've expanded the resort to the point that the waterpark is less "fun". We will be back though.
