“So quiet and peaceful”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

1st time staying at Wilderness on the Lake. Used to just rent a room at the resort, but the noise never seemed to stop there. At the Lake - it is so quiet, and the 2 bedroom condo's overlooking the lake are beautifully appointed with LG big screen TV's in almost every room. You need to bring nothing but food, and a good attitude. The grils they provide are Weber Geneis for grilling up your steak dinner. The inifinty pool is beautiful, and its super conveneint for the teens to go via shuttle or water taxi to the main resort to scream and hollar at the water parks. Yes - it's a little more expensive to stay there - but totally worth every cent for that much needed valued sleep! I would go back.

Room Tip: Ask for on the lake - - - the views are worth the extra money.

We stayed at the wilderness on the lake for 2 nights. We rented a 2 bedroom condo. It was very big and fits our needs well. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower in the master bedroom was great. The master bathroom was huge. There was a little bit of a musty smell when we checked it, but we opened the "patio" doors and it was fine. Our fridge had a sheet of ice on the top shelf which was a nuicence because it melted and got everything wet, but I don't let things like that ruin our vacation. There was also some stains on the carpets, but what do you expect when thousands of people stay there. The hot tub in the rooms are small, but by the time we got back everyone was tired so it wasn't a issue. The transportation to the waterparks was great. We took the buses and the pontoon. We never waited more than 15 minutes to get to where we were going. The waterparks were awesome. Everyone had a great time. The kids were 15, 4, and 2. The food in the waterpark was awful and way over priced. Overall, it was great and we will definitely stay there again next year.

We stayed at Wilderness on the Lake from June 4-8 2012. We had a two bedroom condo and it was the nicest, cleanest hotel we have ever stayed. There were 4 flat screen TVs, a dvd player, two fireplaces, two bathrooms, stocked kitchen, hot tub, etc. Absolutely perfect for our family of 5, plenty of room for everyone. We walked right out of our hot tub room onto the patio, they had 5 nice grills for the residents to use, lots of tables, and a gas firepit to roast marshmallows. We walked about 100 feet down to the beach at the lake and fed the ducks every day. We also walked along a short sidewalk to the shared indoor/outdoor hot tub, and the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the lake. From the infinity pool, you walk right in to the indoor pool, The only negative thing that I could find about the resort is that we had to drive to the main waterparks and lazer tag, haunted house, put-put, etc that were located at the Wilderness resort. It was a short drive, and we had no parking problems, but it was not as convenient as it would have been just staying at the main Wilderness Resort hotel. But, the room makes the short drive SO worth it!

Room Tip: Ask for a ground level condo, so you can walk right out onto the patio.

My husband two daughters(4 & 13) and I stayed at the The Wilderness on the Lake for 3 nights June 2nd threw the 5th. We have made a yearly trip to the Dells for about 10 years now and had always stayed at this resort, on the lake or at the villas or in a regular room. For the previous 2 yrs. we went to the Great Wolf Lodge because we had a baby and the Wilderness was too big to really enjoy with a baby in tow. She is now 4 so we decided to go back to the Wilderness this year much to the delight of our 13yr.old!! We had a great time the outside parks were open and the weather was great. It was not to crowded at all for us! The room (2 bed 2 bath) condo was wonderful!! Super clean! Beds were comfy! 4 flat screen tvs ,washer and dryer, always nice to have clean clothes to unpack instead of dirty ones to wash when ya get home! Full kitchen and the in room hot tub was a big hit with our girls!! The service was great!! Very helpful and nice! We didn't like the location of the 1st. room we were given(the first one when you walk in the main doors to the lobby) or the fact that it had 2 tub showers instead of the master with the 2 person double headed stand up shower. They couldn't have been nicer and switched our room right away !! All of the shuttle drivers were super friendly and so were the life guards !! We will most likely be back some time this summer for another weekend. If not we will be back next yr. for sure!! It is a very large resort with lots of walking to get from one thing to another. We brought our umbrella stroller for our 4yr. old after all the swimming she was to tired to walk the big distances as I expected but the rest of us were fine. Also we did get lunch from one of the snack shops( in the wave pool area). My husband brought us 2 cheeseburgers 1 order of fries and an order of chicken strips and a soda for us all share(I had brought in water bottles w/ juice mix packs for the kids in my bag). I think it was like $26 all together which we didn't think was bad and tasted ok( it is snack bar food not a restaurants). That was the only food we ate at the resort this time. I made us breakfasts in our room and we ate dinners out. We did bring in snacks with us (pnb crackers, granola bars, chex mix) and water bottles. We have always had a great time at The Wilderness and are glad to be able to be going back now that our little one isn't to little for it anymore!!

This was the first time I have stayed at one of the Wilderness hotels and I was glad we picked Wilderness on the Lake. It is a bit of a hike to the main waterparks by the hotel but the benefits of having a quiet room overlooking the lake vastly outweighed the slight inconvience of driving 5 minutes to reach the waterparks.

Perfect timing as most of the water parks open the outside parks on memorial day. We planned a last minute trip to the wilderness. I loved that I got to do everything online. We got there a bit early, Check in was supposed to be at 4 p.m. and we got there at 1p.m. Our room was not ready so we went to go eat. As soon as our room was ready they sent me a text message to let me know They had already given us the room keys so we were able to get to our room with out having to check in again. Our room was ready within 15 minutes after we checked in. We got the king size jacuzzie sweet and was perfect size for our family of 4. We took our 10 and 9 year old kids and they were never bored. Will be coming back as soon as we get another chance for a weekend get away!

Room Tip: The room with the jacuzzie and king size bed is a perfect size if you are taking two young kids.

Have stayed here multiple times in the winter. It's great with the indoor waterparks and you never have to leave. Tons of fun, arcade, ice cream, breakfast buffet. Pretty clean too!
