Flamingo Motel & Suites
Ranked #61 of 74 Hotels in Wisconsin Dells
Reviewed June 11, 2012

If they would remodel the rooms it would not be so bad.....stains all over the carpets and the bedding comforter smelled bad....we got to town late and luckily ran into a Flamingo employee who informed us we had to get our key from Mayfair Motel.......also no blow dryer or microwave....the AC took awhile to get cool too at first we thought it would be an extremely HOT night, but it eventually cooled the room.....but to all bad there is somethings good :) The outdoor pool was nice even with friendly lifeguards and the counter check in ladies were very nice. If your a germ clean freak this is not the place for you, but if your not too picky and want a place to stay it isnt the worst, but a place if I had to choose to sleep in would not.....also beware of spiders....I killed 3 in our bathroom...Im not scared of them, but my daughter is....

Room Tip: IF they are remodeling as another review noted ask for a newly remodeled room

We usually stay here and it's nothing fancy but the rooms have always been clean and the staff has always been friendly. They have new owners this year (the same company that owns noah's ark) and they are remodeling a lot of the rooms. The room like usual was clean the only thing I wasn't a big fan of was when we went to the lobby to check in there was a sign there that says you have to check in at the Mayflower. When we checked in they only gave us 1 key so we asked for a second one and was informed that he would have to go to the Flamingo lobby to get the other one so we told him to just leave it in the room. Before we even got everything out of our van he approached us with the other key. When he gave us the key we asked for 2-3 extra pillows and he told us that wouldn't be a problem. We went out to eat and came back to our room and he gave us 6 pillows instead. The customer service was better than ever. The outdoor pools and the indoor pool was closed while we where there which is ok because we never use them anyway. The day we left they opened the outdoor pools by the lobby and the reason they where closed is because they now staff them with lifeguards. Overall I we had a nice stay here.

in late june of 2011 my family stayed at Flamingo Motel which we have been staying for years past, our garbage in the bathroom had no garbage bag. Our sink in bathroom leaked, contacted office no one came to fix it. Stayed two nights paid over $300 and no service. No one came to check on us, for towels, garbage or anything. Will not be staying there again. Their foreign help need hygiene tips too. Bad Motel.

Stayed at the flamingo for a weekend and although there's nothing fancy about the motel, it was pretty clean and was in a great location. If your going to the dells the bare minmum will do as I'm sure you won't be spending much time in your room anyway.

Hotel was overpriced for the quality and accomodations-even with the Noah's ark tickets thrown in. Got phone reservation wrong, rooms were outdated and little to no amenities. Locks and doors were old and flimsy and opened with keys to which they only had one key per room. Air conditioning was a unit high above sink counter and had to stand on counter to reach controls. Rooms smelled like smoke still, not uniform in appearance, had old appliances such as tvs and refrigerators, and had old style screen/sliding door for the front of the room. WIFI only in lobby which was so small it only had two patio tables to sit at. Beds were like cement and they fitted the queen beds with unfitted twin sheets that were scratchy and didn't fit right. Go to Chula Vista, Mt. Olympus or Kalahari instead. This hotel is owned by Noah's Ark and not worth it.

We stayed in a deluxe family suite that had recently been renovated. For our family's needs it was more than adequate. It was clean and tidy.

I had stayed at this hotel years ago and when we decided that we wanted to do Noah's Ark instead of Mt. Olympus I just called and booked a couple of rooms and THEN looked at Trip Advisor. After reading the reviews my expectations were very low and warned everyone that this may not be a great experience. But, it was not that bad.

We had two different rooms, the first one was a double queen on the 2nd floor of one of the older buildings. The room could definately use some updating, noisy air conditioner, missing some light bulbs, but since we only paid $100 a night and it came with 2 free Noah's Ark tickets for each night we stayed it was well worth the price. The 2nd room was a ground floor deluxe family suite in a newer building by a pool. It had 2 queens, a larger bathroom and a separate bedroom with a king bed. There was also a light bulb shortage in this room, but it was newer than the first. It also came with 2 free tickets. The tub did drain slowly, but again this was a room for 6 people for less than $200. Others have commented on the rude front desk staff, but I found them friendly and helpful! The proximity to Noah's Ark was great!

If you are expecting a 4 start hotel, this is not the place for you, but if you just want a decent place to sleep, a shower and some free tickets, it was just fine.
