This place can't hold a candle to the wines at Wollersheim Winery in Prairie Du Sac. If you like sweet wines, you might enjoy this place but their traditional styles are not good quality.

They do offer a nice tasting to guests free of charge so if you are looking to try it out, it's low risk.

We were out for a drive and though of this place since it wasn't far from home. Had a free wine tasting and a pizza. Our opinions of the white wines were sort of smooth but not much favor. The reds were OK, the pinot noir was as nice as any I have tasted. The big surprise was the fruit wines which I normally don't care for."Grannys Gold" a green apple Riesling, bursting with apple, clean and crisp.
"Just Peachy" a peach chard(not oaky) was just as fresh and crisp as the apple.
"Razz Prairie" is a berry wine just waiting to glaze a pork roast or wash down a pork tenderloin. I'm sure we'll be back to get more. Not a full menu. Appitizers and pizza, music and seating outside. Pizza, wine, soda: $15.

10 miles outside of the Dells, off the beaten path and blessedly far away from the tourists, lies this gem of a winery.
Free wine samples of all of their wines and a small simple menu so you can sit on the back porch and listen to some music on a Thursday night with a bottle of wine, this is a wonderful experience.
Their wines are incredibly drinkable - even the grape styles that don't normally do it for me.
Their Chardonnay is only lightly oaked make it refreshing and delightful.
They don't oak their Merlot at all, making for a wine that gives you all the flavor of the grape without the overly dry taste you get with most American merlots.
Their fruit wines are all very sweet but not cloying. They highlight the fruit very well and make for excellent dessert options.
This is the winery for people looking to enjoy a style of wine they wouldn't normally expect to enjoy and for people who don't think they like wine at all.
Thursdays they have music out on their back porch area. Brad Palmer and his guitar will take you through some of the better mellow '70's songs ... the stuff from the great songwriters of the decade that my dad raised me (right) on. They do '70's trivia, too, with prizes. This is a place where local folks and friends of the owners come and hang out but they do a good job of advertising around the Dells so tourists come find them, too.
it was kind of buggy the night we went due to heavy rainfall (so bring some bug spray with you just in case) and we had already planned to go visit another spot so we didn't stay as long as I would have liked. We'll definitely be back.
The owner is a friendly lady and was the one that tipped us off to another local brewery that we ended up visiting. They carry plenty of New Glarus beers and the Port Huron beers as wells so even if you're dragging a non-wine drinker with you, they won't be unhappy. :)

My mom and I loved every minute of our trip to Fawn Creek, and we'll probably be going back weekly for 70s Trivis & Live Music. The scenery is beautiful, the wine is delicious, Brad Palmer's music was incredible and the customer service was awesome. Our night was PERFECT :)
