“Clean and Quiet Hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2010

We chose the Skyline hotel based on reviews at tripadvisor.com. This hotel is directly across the street from Mount Olympus water & theme park so I was a little nervous about the noise. We chose a mini-suite in the main hotel building and was very impressed at how quiet it was. Our room was in the corner furthest from the street so that may have helped. The room was spacious and very clean. Agreeing with other reviews, the carpeting is worn and feels as though it was laid directly on the concrete floor with no padding. But, the beds were the most comfortable beds-the pillow-top mattresses felt new. The tv is very small and our teenagers laughed at it, but we were not there to sit in the room & watch tv, so that didn't really matter. The breakfast is decent. Continental breakfast consisting of muffins (extremely dry & tasteless), fruit danishes, donuts, fresh fruit, 3 kinds of cereal, milk, apple & orange juice and 3 waffle makers. There was a staff member constantly wiping down tables and cleaning up. On the weekend, they also served bagels. The coffee is watered down though so you may want to run down the road for some hot McDonald's coffee. The room rate included tickets for Mount Olympus the moment we checked in for our entire stayed with unlimited use of the water & theme park. We walked across and it can be a bit dangerous, but not if you are used to city traffic. It's not that bad. The front desk was courteous and check in & check out was quick and easy. The rooms were cleaned each day and it looked like fresh clean sheets were put on the bed each time which many hotels do not do unless you request it. We had plenty of towels and there was soap and Bath & Body Works shampoo & conditioner. The photos on the website are misleading-some of them must be taken from another hotel because the lobby does not have cushiony chairs. It is clean & friendly, but with tables for the breakfast service. There are no pool tables either and I'm not sure where the photo of the hanging ropes over the pool was taken. The indoor pool does have the large dragon in it though. We did not use the indoor or outdoor pool but both appeared very clean and some guests were using them. I can't say whether or not we would stay here again. Depends on the reason for our visit. Our teens were most interested in Mount Olympus which is why we chose this hotel.

We traveled with 3 families, 4 adults (including an18 yr. old) 3 teenagers an 11 yr old and a 2yr. old. The Skyline was perfect for us young and older alike. We had two rooms in the Hotel one a double queen and one mini suite. Although the carpet and furniture showed some wear the rooms and common areas were very clean. The staff that we encountered were very friendly. For some reason I ended up on the sleeper sofa and it was actually pretty comfortable for a pull out. Soap is provided but don't forget to bring your own shampoo.

We stayed during the week so breakfast was traditional continental plus the waffle bar. There is both indoor and out door pools including baby pools. My 2 yr old grand daughter took full advantage of both the smaller pools! There is an indoor whirlpool and sauna. There is also a large deck between the indoor pool area and the outdoor pool that the adults certainly enjoyed it in the evening. There is also a small arcade area that kept the boys occupied for quiet a while. The wi-fi worked very well.

The Motel portion of the property is very close to the pool/hotel so do not be worried about a long hike if you choose the motel; you could potentially be closer to breakfast and pool than some in the hotel. The property is across the street from a Mt. Olympus entrance. I was certainly surprised that with so many families with children that the hotel was so quiet...everyone was probably exhausted from a day at the water park!

Skyline hotel is a simple but nice and clean place to stay. The price was great and with the free Mt. Olympus passes for all your stay it was pretty darn good.Free breakfast , fresh hot waffles - fruit - danish - donuts - coffee - juice.Waterpark was right across the street not to bad.Suggestion for the water park , go early, wear comfy shoes ,alot of lines, and mid week is better than the weekend.Budget beds ar e a little hard , so upgrade a little and get better beds. Have fun and good luck.

Hotel was priced right, right across the street from Mount Olympus - Centrally located to downtown dells and plenty of attractions near it. Great Continental Breakfast, friendly staff. The only problem was our room had an bad odor in it and the sink faucet shut off was broke. They came in and fabreezed our room which helped temporarily and the faucet was fixed the next day. Hotel offered to switch our room, but we had everything already unpacked and didn't feel like packing up again so we dealt with the smell. Overall a great place to stay, price was right and was offered free breakfast plus free passes to Mount Olympus everyday of our stay.

Last year we stayed at the Hotel Rome as our grandkids wanted to spend a couple days at Mount Olympus, and were very disappointed in what we got for the price we paid. As I searched for another location to stay this year, I came across the Skyline that is located directly across the street from the Trojan Horse at the entrance of Mt.Olympus and also offers Mt. Olympus passes included in their rates. When I called to ask questions, I was greeted by a genuinely interested person on the other end of the phone. She graciously answered all my questions and acted as though she had nothing better to do than talk to me! When we arrived, we were greeted by this same lovely lady who quickly got us checked in and explained the breakfast, Mt. Olympus passes, etc. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator, which is so nice on vacation and the shower area is separate from the vanity area. The breakfast each morning was very nice and included waffles with strawberries, chocolate chips and walnuts as options for toppings in addition to syrup. There was fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, cereal, donuts, milk, juice and great coffee, which was available at all times throughout the day. The indoor pool and hot tub area was large and had a separate pool/slides for toddlers. There is a small room adjacent the pool with arcade type games that seem to be popular throughout the Dells. The Skyline also has a very nice outdoor hot tub and good size outdoor pool that is meticulously clean and well kept up--as is the entire Skyline property. There is also an area with a grill should people choose that option. The owner and his son were working and they, as well as all the employees were very attentive to their guests and meeting their needs. It is obvious they take great pride in their business and are proud of the fact that the Skyline has been in their family for over 30 years. We enjoyed visiting with them and learned a lot about recent upgrades of the Skyline as well the Dells in general. It is nice to visit with people who can give you honest tips on where to find the best in restaurants, attractions, etc. It quickly becomes obvious that the family that owns the Skyline want their customers to be pleased with their accommodations and it really shows in how they interact with their guests. We definitely recommend the Skyline and will stay at the Skyline again!

Traveling with my sons basketball team for weekend tournaments to the dells has not been full of pitfalls when it comes to hotels. I understand how some hotels would not want the extra headaches when it comes to taking care of large groups. I'll be honest, the group we travel with are a fun bunch and we all like to get away for the weekend with our kids. Our team stayed at Skyline last weekend and this place deserves to be mentioned.
First of all, they were prepared for us. When we arrived, we hardly put our luggage down and they had us checked in, got some great discounts, we got wristbands to Mt. Olympus and were told we had a hospitality room just for us. We never even asked for these! With the kids at Mt.Olympus, us parents actually enjoyed ourselves all day in the hospitality room. We didn't even have to drive the kids, Mt. Olympus was right across the street.
We did have a glitch, you can't play with wristbands but the hotel was able to replace them so we could still play and go back to the park, thanks Michelle that alone made the stay worthwhile for us moms on a budget. These guys did not miss a beat. Continental breakfast was definitely busy but really really good!

Just wanted to say thanks guys. We will be back. Go Wildcats!
