“Not a bad resort, but guests are incredibly rude”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

The room we had was a 2 room 3 queen bed on the third floor, which was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. They could use a drying wire in the tub area like some of the other places we have stayed at in the past. The huge disappointment was the other guests. The resort should really have a stationary guard posted in each segment of hall on each floor.

After 11 PM there was a family with young (3 - 5 years old) children and they were out in the hallway running up and down the hallway screaming. There were a number of extremely loud groups in the hallway all night long. One group even crashed into a wall or door so hard that the entire room shook. This behavior was outrageous and these guests should be ashamed of themselves.

If you want to get any sleep at all, stay at the wilderness, choose the glacier canyon lodge for a couple hundred more and get the 2 bedroom suite.

Room Tip: definitely request a third floor room, this is a wood floor structure and the running children and o...

I want to thank you for taking the time to share your vacation getaway with us. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the room accommodations during your stay. I do however apologize for the noisy guests around you. We do have staff available 24 hours to take care of any noise issues that may arise once we are made aware of it. We also have staff walking the property to try and stop the issues before complaints are even made. We do hope to see you with us again in the future. Thank you again!

The drive can be a bit long but worth it. The staff is awesome and the rooms are pretty big for a "standard." They look just like website so no surprises. The place was very clean which makes up for a lot. I would be back or recommend.

This was my first time at this property. Check in was easy, but I did see longer lines at other times. The waterpark was nice but slightly small for my expectations. The indoor amusement park was clean and great for my 9 year old. I did have 2 complaints. There is no breakfast food, other than the coffee shop. (nothing like heading out at -14 for food). The second was that we were on the 1st floor, around the corner from check in. The hall was VERY noisy at all times of the night. Some sort of "quite" time would have been nice.

Room Tip: Rooms close to check in are nice and close to everything, but VERY VERY Noisy!

I'm glad to hear that your 9 yr old enjoyed them self here at MT. Olympus! I want to thank you for taking a moment to review our resort. And most definitely ask for a top floor if you are wanting a more quiet area. I hope you and your family do come back for another family getaway here at Mt. Olympus; perhaps during the summer months so that you may take advantage of all our outdoor water and theme parks! And most definitely ask for a top floor if you are wanting a more quiet area. Thank you again!

First of all, had to call back since the email confirmation I was suppose to get, didn't get. Come to find out the guy misspelled the last name. The guy was very friendly, but it was very hard to understand him. Saw some negative reviews and was hoping that we'd get lucky considering the other good reviews. We stayed at Posiedens village, the furtherest one out. Definately did not feel safe at all staying there. Our room was decent size but my first impression of the room was dirty floors. It's winter, there were dirty salt shoe prints in our room. The bathroom door didn't even lock, the blue paint tapes were left around the bathroom door like it just got a new paint job. And the toilet did not flush well, which my sister pointed out why we had a plunger in the bathroom. They had instant coffee in the room, which reminds me of something you get in a motel. The curtains were so wrinkled, it would take the professionals to iron them out.

After a day of swimming, came back to our room to find out that our key cards were not opening the doors. It was -2 degrees outside! Had to make my kids go back and sit in the car where it was maybe a couple degrees warmer. There were three different guest there whose key card was not working either. After about 5 minutes standing out in the cold hoping that it would work and on the phone with front desk, a couple happened to be leaving who opened the door for us. By then there was a crowd standing outside.

The only upside was the room was comfortably warm and the beds were plush and comfortable. Never want to stay there again.

We booked early to stay for 2 days for New Year Eve. We booked to stay in the Mt. Olympus Village. The booking agent guaranteed it would be two connecting rooms as we planned to stay with our friends. The price was about $270 for two nights for our room. When arrived they sent us to a building that did not have connecting doors. When we spoke with the service desk they said that it was a request and not a guarantee. We explained that we booked with them because they guaranteed the rooms connecting. A manager came out and found us connecting rooms in building 18 about 1/2 mile from the Indoor Waterpark. The Village part of Mt Olympus is a bunch of buildings scattered in the community of The Dells and Lake Delton that appear to be previous small hotels that they bought up and put in some paint and flooring to attempt to update. The rooms had 2 queen beds that have seen better days and need replaced. The blankets on the bed consisted of a sheet and a very thin cotton semi-blanket. In the hallways were Large storage lockers linen in them that stored linen and towels?? Fire Hazard in my opinion when people are panicking or the hallway fills with smoke. Anyway they also do not provide coffee pots which is weird and when we asked for one the maid said they took them all out and if we wanted one we would have to call the front desk at the main resort. The room did have new Wood Laminate flooring that was not very well put together and fresh paint. The old sinks and such were still present, but old worn blue-green drapes that didn't match the burnt orange walls, the chariot wall mural, the white cotton semi-blanket and the pine wood laminate, didn't hire anyone to put the color scheme together I will assume. The red hallway carpet smelled like sewer water in the morning on the first floor, the security door had to be pulled shut to prevent unwanted people from entering building. These buildings I found are also unmanned except when maid was in the area. You had to call or go to main office at Hotel Rome if you needed specifics. The location wasn't bad, the price was low for a reason. We did go to the Indoor Amusement park which comes with some free rides because your a guest. But their was only 5 rides inside so not exciting, but another money trap as there was things to do if you wanted to pay. The waterpark was also visited and it is small, has a couple decent slides but adequate for our use to allow the kids to have fun.
Overall the price was good but the rooms were not worth it if you stay at the Mt Olympus Village, the décor is very unusual and not even done by a professional decorator from outside to inside, Waterpark was fine, the Amusement Park is not anything special at all. We made the best of it, our friends and family can make something that isn't special into a special time and memory. Won't stay again, as many of you know that first impression will determine what an organization is about. Mt. Olympus first impression our two families was very lack luster at best and will not gain our patronage again. We will spend the extra 40 a night for better.

Room Tip: Stay away from what they call the Mt Olympus Village

Visited with grandchildren - ages 1 - 7 for post-Christmas vacation. Kids loved it. Booked room in Hotel Rome with 2 queen beds and bunk bed. Pluses - room was large and clean. Furniture is basic. Nothing fancy. Beds were comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job. Kids loved water park. Indoor amusement park was disappointing. Few rides and with height restrictions not much to keep little ones entertained. Waterpark was very crowded which did not bother the kids but made it difficult for adults. Air temp and water temp was a bit cool for our taste. If they upped both a couple of degrees it would be a much more comfortable environment in the winter. Very few spots for adults to sit and watch kids. Towels they supply are ridiculous. Thin and smaller than a bath towel. Bring your own beach towels. Restroom/changing rooms were unbelievably cold. Be prepared to shiver if you visit in the winter. Very long line at check-in. Worse than checking in at airport. However, front desk staff was friendly and efficient when we finally reached the front of the line. Hotel Rome is clean but needs updating. Carpets in public areas are threadbare and furniture in public areas looks like thrift shop rejects. Surprised that there are absolutely no decent food options on-site. Limited to over-priced fast food options. However, no shortage of food options within minutes of the resort if you do not mind driving. All in all, good reasonably priced option that kids will enjoy. However, adults will be disappointed if they are expecting four star experience.

Room Tip: Warning - only the rooms at Hotel Rome have direct access to the water park. The rooms in Poseidon...

As other satisfied customers, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the experience we had was very different by those described in some of the negative reviews. Yes it is a resort and yes, the rooms are not luxurious, but perfectly adequate and clean. We stayed in Hotel Rome, they gave us a room on third floor (so no people on top); yes there were a few people talking loudly in the hallways, but nothing major. $200 gave us the room, for 4 people ($65 discount on line), $15 gas voucher, access to the indoor water and theme parks; and 4 passes for skiing or tubing that we didn't use (we went cross country skiing instead). The indoor water park is slightly smaller than eg Chula Vista's where we have also been, but perfectly adequate, and not as crowded on a Sat night; it was much enjoyed by children and adults alike. The children also enjoyed the indoor theme park the next morning. It is true there's no real restaurant we could see, but at any rate, there's all of Wisconsin Dells around, and we wouldn't have eaten inside the resort anyway.

Room Tip: I would stay in Hotel Rome. especially in winter, since it is connected to the indoor parks. A room...
