Mt. Olympus Resort
Ranked #64 of 74 Hotels in Wisconsin Dells

Every thing written by previous reviewers is true and then some. There is no security at this resort at all. We also had the situation of people having parties till all hours of the night and with three small children, we called the front desk for help. They did not even answer the phone. We, like others, were not at the main hotel. I actually got in the van and drove to the lobby area where I vented for 15 minutes. Jason, the night manager said he would send security immediately. No one ever arrived. I called again an hour and a half later and a maintenance man came thru yelling at every one to quiet down. Also, the changing area at the park leaves a lot to be desired. There is no family changing area and you have to bring your boys into the ladies area which is totally unacceptable. I will never stay here again and I will be writing a letter to Mr Laskaris although I seriously doubt I will receive any reply.

Room Tip: If you have to go, at least ask for a room on the top floor so you do not have to listen to children...

We arrive to the hotel and the room was a mile away from the water park, it was old and even they charged for three people, they left one shampoo, one conditioner and one soap, that's it! There was no coffee maker! (fridge and microwave, yes) The internet super slow and having to log in every 80 minutes, The night was awful. It sounded like elephants were running upstairs at around midnight, I complained and they sent somebody and it stopped. The noises started again at about 6 AM. The water park is very small but nice. Next time I will stay somewhere else and just pay the pass to the water park. The toilet seat has the paint chipped off of it. We didn't enjoy the stay. Just the water park and theme park.

Room Tip: make sure your room is in the Rome Hotel and not in a village. It's not specific in the website...

Fire alarm went off 3 times that night. I understand they can't help that, but the communication and follow up during this time was very poor. These were false alarms and no one was informed what was going on or if it was safe to go back in the building yet. Went in and key cards for room wouldn't work after alarm went off. Waited 30-45 min before the maintenance manager happened to walk by and override it with his master key to let us in. First alarm went off around 10:00 - so very sleepless night. No apologies - no discounts offered.

Our family visits the Wisconsin Dells at least once a year. The time of year and the resort we choose varies. We walked into a lobby line similar to that going through security the airport. Our room which was in a seperate building 1/4 of a mile away is simply an old hotel room with a decorative wallpaper wall that includes a picture of your headboard. While walking through the hallway to find out way around an extremly rude employee yelled at us that we were going the wrong way instead of offering any assistance. The indoor waterpark was overcrowded with little to offer. Very disappointed!

The accommodations were dirty. They were offsite from the waterpark so you had to drive to the waterpark; however, the changing area was inadequate. They have over 20 hotel buildings they are booking for 1 indoor waterpark but the changing area is about 3 feet wide and a 20 ft long bench! Dirty, gross, over-crowded. Do not stay here in the winter! My girls did not want to shower or change in the area as there were boys in the changing area (they did not have a separate area for families -mom's with small boys). The waterpark was advertised as the "largest indoor waterpark", which cannot be true. It has 4 slides & a lazy river for adults/kids which is decent, but definitely not the largest area. The hotel building we were booked in was run down, had no lobby, no onsite management. The room did not have a coffee maker and there was no coffee available in the lobby - since there isn't a lobby! I was told they don't advertise "coffee as an amenity" therefore guests should not expect it and they could refer me to a gas station close by. Overall, extremely disappointing. We checked out and left the same day we checked in -we just could not stay as the hotel and waterpark on a whole was NO Vacation - more like a chore!

My family and I are staying here right now, and we are very disappointed. We booked online using the website and were under the impressing we would be staying at the hotel connected to the water park. We were very wrong, we are in one of their scuzzy smaller hotels a mile down the road. While we were checking in, the man next to us had been swindled in the same fashion and was attempting to argue with the staff and all they were willing to do was upgrade his stay at his cost. The staff was extremely unfriendly. I saw his sad plight and decided just to accept defeat and took our room key. On a positive note, I had forgotten to include a promo code in our reservation for four free summer passes to their outdoor watermark and the staff went and asked the manager and came out with four passes. Our room is tiny, with wooden furniture that was obviously just thrown together... There was no finish to the wood, and the printing from the lumber yard was still visible. Our television was dilapidated old tube tv with a remote that functions intermittently and the batteries wire taped in. No available wifi and less than 3 available outlets. With two very modern adults and two 8 year old boys, we need several outlets for our gadgets. I called the main desk, which I was on hold for a good 15 minutes, to ask about a shuttle to the water park. NONE... They put us on the other side of the dells and don't even offer a shuttle. In a nutshell; expensive, dirty, cheaply ran, overcrowded, and just a major disappointment. Overall, extremely displeased.

I have to say I was extremly disapointed at our stay at Hotel Rome. The prices were outrageous for what you get! We were booked in the wrong building even though I called ahead, when we finally got into our room it was gross. It smelled horrible, the floors were maybe swept, but not mopped, and we were quit possitive they had europian cockroaches. We actually have pictures!!! Upon requesting a different room in a different building, we had the same thing. Floors were dirty...just not very clean! Nothing good about sleeping here, oh wait we didnt sleep! The walls are paper thin and a gap of about two inches under all the doors. I think they could have spent a little more money in their rooms instead of the front lobby. Not all the doors are locked to outside, so not great for security. Dont even get me started with the parking outside. They have no seperation for day pass parking and hotel parking. Everyone gets the same parking permit, so even if you were staying at the hotel there was no garentee you would get a parking spot. The water park was the only savior of our weekend. pretty good park, Crazy at times but managable. Overall, im just really disgusted with our stay at the hotel and will not be back...ever!

Room Tip: dont stay here if you want a good room!
