Ok so the rooms weren't in par with our many stays at Wilderness and Kalahari but the variety of things to do with your older (taller) kids in the summer is by far better than any of the places we've been. If you are able to try out all the attractions, this place is a good deal. If not, then there are better places to go. This is definitely a summer place and I wouldn't even think about coming here in the winter versus Wilderness. If you're thinking just water park in the summer, definitely try Noahs Ark. We happened to go during Memorial Day weekend so the lines were very long...too long but I can imagine they are long in other resorts as well on a busy weekend. Just to check-in took us 40 mins. If you do the lazy rivers and wave pools during the day and wait until the last 2 hrs before closing to go on the slides, the lines are tolerable and by the end it was even fast. Definitely try the speed slides...very exhilirating! If you go early morning for the go karts and roller coasters, the lines weren't bad as well. As far as the actual Hotel Rome, we booked 2 rooms and they weren't bad but you can tell they're either understaffed or they are just not well trained to keep everything clean. We had to ask for new sheets because we could tell the sheets weren't changed since there were crumbs all over the bed. Our sink was also clogged and our tv remote didn't work. We called for all this and it took at least 30 mins for the service people to come and fix the issues. I also clorox wiped the sinks and they were not very clean to say the least. The bathrooms were small and the tiles looked like they weren't cleaned in a while. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything going on in the hallways.

I actually wanted to give this a 4 rating since the kids thoroughly enjoyed the parks and really that's my most important criteria but the hotel cleanliness, wait lines to check-in and get service and go on the rides made me give it a 3 rating.

After reading a bunch of truly horrible reviews of this place I was expecting something terrible. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room (2 queen beds) was large and reasonably well appointed and maintained. Our kids got a 2-room suite that also wasn't bad. Look everybody: this is primarily a summer resort, run mostly by seasonal staff; it is not the Marriott. The staff was willing but not always competent. On the other hand, we were there over the Memorial Day weekend when much of the staff is new and untrained. The water park and outdoor stuff was really rather fun, though a bit old. It was very well staffed, so we felt safe letting our 3 grandsons have some independence.

One suggestion: stay 10-15 minutes away at one of the national chain hotels and buy day tickets ($20/day, which includes just about everything but food.)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back facing away from the parking lot.

This hotel is obnoxious!!!! The rooms are extremely small and the staff SUCKS!!! We usually stay at Chula Vista or my favorite-Kalahari. The kids do love Mt. Olympus waterpark; so we thought we would try Hotel Rome-BAD DECISION! The walls are paper thin and I think the cleaning crew went on strike.Trust me you will feel violated after your stay here. My family would decline staying over night in the Dells if Hotel Rome was the destination.

Room Tip: My best tip is don't stay here!!!

OK, I've read good and bad reviews and will say this. They all have good points, but to say that this is the worst place...come on. They must work for the Wilderness or Kalahari.

There is no better value or variety of activities included in your SUMMER stay than at Mt. Olympus. None of the other resorts even come close. You get the usual like 2 days of waterpark passes for each night you book, PLUS (and this is a HUGE plus) unlike Kalahari and Wilderness, you get about 8 go kart tracks, dozens and dozens of rides, including roller coasters, kiddie rides, bumper boatsw and more AT NO CHARGE extra. There are enough go carts for all ages even as young as 4 years old. There are tiny ones, medium ones for elementary ages and middle school. as well as more difficult 2 person cars that wind around challenging tracks that kids can go on with their parents.

Considering that Wilderness RIPS YOU OFF at $5 a ride, this is HUGE. Considering that Kalahari RIPS YOU OFF with their indoor amusement park which has about 5 rides only and one horrible, small, steep tracked indoor go carts that are extremely dangerous and costs an additional $25 admission, you just cannot beat Mt. Olympus for a total experience. The water park at Mt. Olympus appeals to little kids, elementary school and teens with several slides, lazy rivers and wave pools for all ages.

We have been to the Dells at least 20X so I do consider myself very well informed on the major resorts. I will say that those reviews that are bad seem to mostly be from folks visiting in the cooler months. I do agree that this resort needs to build more indoor water park attractions for their cooler months. After all, Wisconsin is cool 9 months out of 12. The ratings would dramatically improve, and their profits would skyrocket. Also hiring English speaking folks and not hesitating to fire the foreign employees who are rude would also help.

Room Tip: Try to get into Hotel Rome if possible. Mykonos is fine, too but it is off site. You may save some m...

They've taken to buying all the run down hotels in the area. The rooms overpriced and not very well kept up. The waterpark is a mix of old and new with the old rundown. The indoor water area is extremely small. They sell you on the free roller coasters, water park and gokarts but what they don't tell you is there are so many hotels that are part of the group now that the crowds are extremely big. Stay at the Kalahri, the Wilderness, Great Wolf, you'll have a much better time at any of these and the quality of the service, the staff and the grounds are so much better at those resorts. Staff is completely unresponsive to any needs. And watch the kids because if they get hurt it will be like you don't even exist.

Just got back from my first time at Mt. Olympus and my family enjoyed it very much. They opened 2 rollercoasters and 2 go kart tracks along with a couple of the smaller kid rides. The indoor amusement park was better than expected with a roller coaster, bumper cars, climbing wall, little kids activity and smaller go kart track. The water park was very crowded on Saturday night and was smaller than expected. The life guards were doing their best to control some of the rowdy kids, but that is a parental issue. The rooms were very well kept, we had dbl. queen with bunk beds. I would recommend asking for a top floor room as you can hear people walking across your ceiling as the rooms had wood floor. I would recommend getting there at 10 am to hit the indoor amusement park then hit the opening of the outdoor park and hit the swimming in the late afternoon or early evening when things start to clear out.

There was a lot to do and it wasn't very crowded. It was a little cold outside but it was a bonus that the outdoor park had some rides open. The water park was I bit small with nothing above and beyond any of the others. The room was fine, comfortable with a flat screen.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road have no view because they built some wood column looking things around the hot...
