We stayed at the Kalahari for 2 nights during Christmas break. It was fantastic. It's a great place to stay. There are plenty of hotel activities that kids enjoy - cookie decorating, karaoke, story telling, the arcade, in room movies, the cinema is right next door, an adorable 12 week old white siberian tiger in the lobby. There were also adult activities - wine & cheese tastings, meet the chef. There's no reason to leave the hotel, unless you want to hit the strip.
I have issues with cleanliness in hotels, and was pleasantly surprised that everything (inside and outside our room) was spotless.
There are hotel channels on the tv that show what the event schedules are and one that shows the pool in real-time, so you can see just how crowded or empty it is at any given moment.
My only suggestion is to bring watersocks. The bottom of the pool is bumpy and slick. And watch your knees and ankles in the lazy river. The depth goes from around 3 feet to 1'9" and you can get pretty scratched up in the shallow areas if limbs are hanging off the inner tube.
There are plenty of place to eat there. Like any other hotel, the prices range from the high end of average to steep.
We will definitely be back!!More
