“Kalahari Waterpark of Wisconsin Dells Rocks!”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

Our family of 5 (Mom, Dad & 3 young teens) loved Kalahari in the Wisconsin Dells. It is one of the "Big 3" water/amusement parks of the Dells. We chose to stay at the Resort for one night which actually gives everyone 2 full days, unlimited use of their monster indoor and outdoor waterparks as part of the price of the room. This ends up being a great deal when you compare to purchasing just 2 days of waterpark tickets alone for your family and getting a room elsewhere. We booked our stay online well in advance and everything went perfect from check-in to the time we left

Our room was very nice, very clean and very comfortable. We were just a jump, skip and a hop from all the action. The water rides and slides were excellent including the flowrider wave machine (like on cruise ships), the master blaster indoor water coaster and many other awesome slides both indoors and out. They also have an abundance of things for the little ones too. But we were all about the slides. Mom and I also loved the long and winding lazy rivers whenever we needed a break.

In comparison the other major waterpark we visited on our same trip: Both were great parks but Kalahari wasn't quite as big or had all the roller coasters and go-cart tracks included with your room. However, but we liked it because it wasn't quite as sprawled out as the other place so there was'nt nealy as much walking. The lines for the numerous slides never seemed too long in both the indoor and outdoor waterparks. Nice! It is also conveniently located near many great restaurants if you prefer to eat off-site from the resort.

All-and-all we all had an incredible time for 2 days at the Dells Kalahari Waterpark and would highly recommend them to family and friends.

I can't count the times I've stayed at the Kalahari. I usually wait and try to find some of the deals they offer on their website. The last time I went, our package included theme park passes, tommy bartlett watershow passes, and free breakfast and lunch both days. I personally think it is very clean and have never had any problems with a dirty room or facilities.

Room Tip: always check their specials before booking! they have great things that they offer.

My family loved the attractions at the kalahari but the actual hotel itself was pretty nasty and stinky. We stayed in the Sands building. When we first walked in our room it smelled very musty. The shower curtain smelled like mildew. The tub had a dirt ring around it. The toilet had a ring around it. I was walking down the hall and over heard another family complaining about how the hallway was smelling. They made a statement that 'this entire building stink". The waterpark and other attraction in the building was great. All the employees were very nice also.

Just got back from the Kalahari once again and this year we had a group of 11 family members all together who ranged in ages from 1yrs old-70yrs old. There was always something to keep us busy.
Checked in at noon on Sunday, got our wrist bands and off to the outdoor pool we go. The room wasnt ready yet but thats ok--check in wasnt til 4pm anyway. Go to see if our room was ready at 4pm and it was so we get our luggage and off to our african queen room #2201. We always get the african queen and we have been lucky in the past by gettin the front of the resort view, but this time we got the back of the resort view, so our room had a view of wall to another bldg and the air conditioning units. We could not even go onto our balcony because of the noise from the units. But, other than that our room was good. It holds up to 8 ppl. Has 3 tvs, 2 full baths, 2 bedrooms, family room, fireplace, fridge and micro.
We never had to leave the resort cuz everything is under one roof. Great restaurants, delicious icecream and fudge shop, movie theatre, indoor theme park, 3 giftshops, hairbraiding, The food is a little higher than what we would like to pay but ur on vacation and you only live once.
Anytime we had issues with something they were resolved very quickly. The staff was very friendly. Especially Matt at the front desk--he was very pleasant and patient with us. Thanx Matt!!! How often do you get a chance to get away and just enjoy your surroundings and the people around you. Enjoy life and dont let the little things bother you and you will have a great vacation

We stayed there about 3 yrs ago and were surprised then to get a free upgrade...so I decided to give it a try again. We booked a summer special which was for 1 night at a hut room and included 4 passes to the indoor amusement and also the Tommy Bartlett show. Cost was $199 plus tax. We arrived with our 15 and 12 YO daughters. I was checking in and figured it didn't hurt to ask for an upgrade. Ryan, our amazing front desk clerk, at first offered us a suite for $40 extra per night. I asked for a better deal. He ended up getting us into a combination suite for the SAME PRICE. Honestly, this room (I mean roomS) was suhweet. King bed in one room with huge doors leading into a fam room, working fireplace, full kitchen (full fridge, oven, microwave, dw, kitchen table and bar), patio and the adjoining which my daughters LOVED had 2 queen beds, mini fridge and microwave, another full bath and their own patio. Seriously, this condo was amazing and all for $200.

The indoor park was fun as usual. Fairly clean, efficient, friendly staff and seemed very particular about safety.

Indoor Amusement Park was fun but was included in our package...not sure it would have been worth enough to pay . Laser tag was fun, mini golf ok....go karts took forever to get on and was so-so.

Outdoor waterpark was nice. Lots of fun rides and we didn't get there until 11am abd were able to get 4 lounge chairs near the water.

Food was expensive, but it is a resort and so you pay to not have to leave for your meals. However, hubby and I got Famous Daves down the road one night and that was yummy.

we wanted to stay a second night but they were at 100% capacity, actually most all the hotels were.

Awesome time at Kalahari...that suite spoiled us forever!

Stayed at the Kalahari for 3 nights with a 14, 10 and a 11 month old in July and we all loved it. The room was spectacular, staff was wonderful and the kids never ran out of things to do. And for only $20 extra per kid they had access to the indoor theme park with unlimited laser tag, go carts, mini golf and ferris wheel rides the entire stay. Great deal. We also stayed in the Sands building, it was a little ways from the parks but the walk wasn't bad at all, worth the money we saved.

We liked it so much we are going back this winter. I don't have any other place to compare it to in the Dells but I don't know how anywhere else could be any better.

Recently we returned to Kalahari for a family reunion. As usual the rooms were clean and the service very good. we split up a condo with my in laws and my sister in laws family. the kids were in the water almost all the time. I have been here numerous times and have yet to see a dirty room or receive bad service. the staff is always friendly and helpful. we ate at Damon's restaurant and had a great meal and good service. We will probably make this at least a once a year stop as it is one best vacation spots in the Midwest. The kids love going to the amusement park arcade area and playing games all day. I would suggest this resort to anyone with kids.
