My son and I stayed at the Atlantis 2 nights during his Spring Break. He had a blast, he of course enjoyed it more than I did. I must admit that I was a little leary after reading some of the reviews, but I decided to take a chance and go see for myself.
I really did enjoy it we stayed in a standard double queen room with a balcony no frills but the price was only $54 a night, so you can't expect the Waldorf Astoria. My son is 8 yrs old and he is a non swimmer and he absolutely loved the kiddie pools. We did go over to Mt Olympus/Bay of Dreams, though it was nice my son had a better time right there at the Atlantis. I just wish I would have known this before hand so that I would not have spent 40 bucks on the same type of kiddie pool we had the the Atlantis for free.
On the down side there was no resturant in the hotel other than a small grill located near the pool. I read in another review that the pool was "scratchy" I had no idea what that meant until I went there and walked on the pool floor with my bare feet, and let me tell you it was VERY uncomfortable so I had to run back to the room for my aqua socks. The staff was OK...My son and I stayed at the Atlantis 2 nights during his Spring Break. He had a blast, he of course enjoyed it more than I did. The staff was OK they were just nice enough to slide by, but they could use a course in Customer Service Skills 101.
The Atlantis is true to the fact that it is meant for children 11 and under, if you have older children they might get bored. This property is perfect for little ones nad non swimmers because of the pools. The rooms were clean and the beds were nice and comfy. I will absolutely go back.
