Chula Vista Resort Water Parks
Reviewed July 23, 2013

ok.... its not an issue, but i found their waterpark poor.... thats a good think that they dont chek your bags and almost underware like those do in Mt.Olympus, but waterpark, especially outdoor was so small and it was not that much to do... we got the passes for free from staying with AmericInn, so i dont complain.....but i expected more....

With 2 adults, and kids (8,7,5,3 & 6 1/2 months), this was a great place! Kiddie pool, splash area, lazy river and waterslides.......everyone had a blast! No crazy lines or long walks from one thing to another!

I can't say enough about this park for kids! Lifeguards in every pool and 2 at every slide! Since I don't "do slides" it was nice to be able to allow a child to go up by himself and just wait for him at the bottom. Not much for adults without children, but great for families and kids! Especially good enough when free with motel stay!

Its a nice waterpark, but the reason we go there is because it is the waterpark that comes with the room. We would probably prefer to go to Noah's ark if it came with our Room.

This was our fourth trip to the Dells for family vacation; first trip to Chula Vista. We won't go back again. Upon entering our room, the accommodations are average, at best. We were promised a "beautiful, scenic view of the Wisconsin river". By "beautiful and scenic" they meant "blocked by trees". We traveled with 4 children under the age of 8. The outdoor sliding screen latch was broken. There was a broken, EXPOSED electrical plug in right next to the bed. The "mini-kitchen" was a dorm sized refrigerator, in which we found food. The fridge temperature was not adjustable and it was stuck on "freeze". Everything we put in it was frozen overnight, including food.

We were in the North Tower. When we made our dissatisfaction known we were repeatedly told "Well, it is the oldest part of the hotel."...........SO? That's an excuse? We dined at the buffet and at Howler's Sports Bar, which is only the bar part of the buffet; therefore, the food you order at the Bar, is food off the buffet. So, steam table french fries, etc. Yuck. 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 adults and 4 children cost $104.00. The buffet cost $55.00 for 2 adults and 4 children.

One of the MAIN indoor water park attractions was "broken". Sorry--out of order. That was half the water park. Just---out of order. Also, the locker systems to keep your valuables, also--out of order; during peak tourist season.

The water park is not so disappointing but the LAYOUT is. The child's outdoor area was the closest pool TO our room, yet the furthest walk FROM our room. There is ONE entrance/exit to all the pools. In order to get to the pools and slides outdoors, the path winds back and forth like a snake; taking you past all of the vendors and attractions. You cannot walk STRAIGHT TO anything. Kind of tough on little kids.

We also found blood on a couple of the chaise pool chairs and a small pool of blood underneath one of them. I could go on and on. It was just NOT a good experience for us. We just got home this afternoon so this is fresh in my mind. But; ugh; what a disappointment. Next year, we'll be back at the Wilderness, for sure. It is more expensive but SO worth it.
