great place for kids, if you are looking for some down time as a couple this is not the place to go, the resort is well tookin care of clean well organized food is fine, they have an amazing amount of proberty, I guess that's why I'm writing this review with all the proberty you would think they would have an pool area for adults only, I'm sure it would be in there best interest,

The good: the ropes course, mini-golf, laser tag, wave pool, arcades and spacious guest rooms. The bad: some attractions closed (including the ONE thing my daughter was looking forward to). Construction in progress and we had to walk through it and past the loud and obnoxious workers. We visited the week before Memorial Day and it was obvious that the resort was looking forward to the guests they were expecting and not those of us who were currently there. Staff seemed irritated and there was a lot of yawning going on. We have no desire to return.

I really was very impressed with the service at the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells. They found out my son has Celiac disease and bent over backwards for him. We packed a food for him but he wanted to have breakfast at the restaurant at the Wilderness. They made him Gluten Free French Toast and buttered toast, and bacon. They have a seperate kitchen area just for gluten free. So no cross contamination!!!

My children loved the resort. It rained the entire time we stayed but we had a blast at the indoor water parks, lazer tag, mini golf just to name a few things.

I can not wait to go back neither can my family! Thank-you Wilderness!

Room Tip: I liked the 4th floor with a balcony. The view was amazing. We stayed in the Canyon area 4116.

We stayed at this resort in June 2013. It was a very nice place to stay. Clean rooms, clean park, helpful staff, lots of water parks (indoor and outdoor). We loved it and our 10 and 8 year old loved it too. Plenty of seating and tables. We did not have a problem getting a table close to where the girls were sliding down the slides for the times we wanted to take a bit of a break from the slides while they were still going strong. Steak house was great. Other food at the resort was okay. We went to Paul Bunions and it was a great place to go eat breakfast at.

Room Tip: We were in building 3 and it was a good location to the entire place

Hate this place! Our group has had an annual reunion at the dells for 7 years. We have gone to the wintergreen (when our kids were little) and moved into the great wolf lodge. This year we tried the wilderness. Never again. The place is spread out and music blasting everywhere so it was difficult to locate each other. The music was so loud we had to text each other. We couldn't sit and visit while the kids swim because the speakers blared everywhere. Couldn't call kids in from the water. Had to wade in to get them. We come to see each other each year and could only do it with the rooms because of the pervasive cocophany. we usually linger by the pool after we checked out, but this place cannot leave fast enough. Cheap blaring speakers Everywhere that suit only tween ears. This place ruined our annual reunion because we Could only visit in the rooms and not by the pools. The kids had a hard time locating each Other by the pools because the speakers drowned out their ability to call each other. Very few life guards and some had to do double duty cleaning tables. Terrible food. Expensive. The indoor park is too small too accommodate all their guests. And the weather here is unpredictable so the indoor park needs to be bigger. The kids all agreed that they missed the great wolf. We will not return here again. Next year back to great wolf.

I went here for a spring break trip in March 2013 with ages 11-51. A good time was had by all. We stayed on Wilderness on the Lake, and we had no problems checking in. The rooms had a very cozy feeling which I liked and were also very clean...the whirlpool and the view of the lake was a nice touch. :) The waterparks were very fun, but a little to spread out. I loved the wave pool, the hurricane, and the black hole! Those were all very fun. We ate offsite so I can't comment on the food. They also had 2 arcades, that looked fun for kids, a ropes course, which my daughter loved, mini golf, and laser tag. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, this Is a big place! Overall we had a good experience at the wilderness.

Please read this review in its entirety if you want to understand our full perspective. We must start out by saying that we have been Kalahari VIPs for several years. However, we had the opportunity to stay at the Wilderness Glacier Canyon Lodge when our daughter was competing in the Legacy dance nationals this past week.
Our first bad experience started last week when we called the hotel to make a change to our reservation. To make a simple change such as shortening our stay, it was a major hassle. So my first recommendation is that if you make your reservation anytime far in advance, take extra special care of your credit card and make sure that you have it with you at all times anytime you choose to interact with the hotel. In our case our credit card had been stolen a few months back and the whole opportunity came back to bite us when trying to deal with this hotel. And even when we thought we had things resolved it became another issue at the point of checking in.
I need to also add that the service was excruciatingly slow in almost all instances. Even get a refill on our (not free) sometimes take a ridiculous amount of time. It seems that all of the employees were quite simply lethargic. I will say that the lifeguards in general were pretty great. The water parks are all pretty nice in and of themselves but it takes a long time to get to each one... I can't imagine trying to do this with a young child who would want to go to different parks. Walking from one end of the resort to the other end take a substantial amount of time. And we were very disappointed in the times that the water parks opened... 10 AM for the outdoor parks felt very late. We were also unhappy with how difficult it was to find a place for a sitdown breakfast on site.
The resort is very well-maintained and we really liked our two bedroom deluxe in the Glacier Canyon Lodge. But at the end of the day I'm not sure I can justify another stay there with how bad the service was.
