Horrible management...unprofessional and the customer service is beyond bad. Staff enters rooms when your not in there and steals your belongings. Be cautious...stay at the Kalahari instead!!! I will never stay at this resort again!!! No apology for theft, "In your face" manager who prefers to argue and threaten you instead of handling a robbery by own staff. Shady to say the least....

As previously stated for same guest complaint in a different review.

The Wilderness is a family resort where we make the safety of our guests a priority. Our security officers contacted the police regarding this early morning situation after being alerted to it. The police came to the condo, inspected it, and reviewed the lock access information with security which indicated no other keys were used to access the condo during the time stated. In addition, our condos have secure keys which are issued new for every guest stay. The police felt there was no indication of a forced entry anywhere or of an unauthorized entry, so therefore police are no longer investigating the guest’s accusation.

We stayed here recently for a bachelorette party and had reserved a condo suite. The room was great, however, easily accesable-to anyone! Our condo was accessed while we were gone. We were specifically targeted. We double and tripled checked all the windows and doors before we left to be sure they were locked. We all left as a group and came back 2 hours later and found several of our items in excess of $1,5000 were stollen. Not only did we lose our items, but felt our privacy had been violoated. The police came out and said there were no signs of break in and the officer, who was a previous security officer for the Wilderness Resort, even told us that he felt that it was an inside job and he didn't think we should stay in the room because someone clearly had access to our room. We asked to speak to a manager when this happened and was told there wouldn't be a manage available until the morning. We also had to ask beggingly for another room to stay in due to safety concerns and being far away from home. We talked to Steve, the manager, the next morning who was very accusing and not sympathetic to our concerns. If there would have been any signs of break in it would have been different but there were no signs of any forcered entry per the police and someone accesed our door using "our" key however according to the time stamp the door was accessed 6 minutes after we all left the hotel on the shuttle together. We even left the lights on for safety when we left.

Room Tip: other resorts would be a better choice. Watch out who you let in your room and hide your room keys!!

We chose a suite for a girl night out that 9 of us stayed in on a Sat night. The waterparks are split up so you have to travel between them to use different things like the hot tub or wave pool. I did not like the layout of the resort. However that was not our reason for staying. The suite/ lodge we stayed in was set off from the main building so you had to take a shuttle or walk (no big deal) but sort of secluded. It was a large decent room for a descent (but not cheap!) price. We set out for the evening at 9 pm, some of our party went back at about 11pm to get a different camera and noted that it was not where it was left, they couldn't find it. When we all returned at about 1:30am we noted that several things were gone, including my Ipad 3, her $600 camera, cash of about $250?, and various other strange items. The security guard was nice but admitted he was new, only there a week and the ONE other guard for the whole place was there for 1 and 1/2 weeks! They called police who made a report. We asked for a new safer room that hadn't been accessed (nine women-secluded) and they said they didn't know if they could do that. Took an hour to get it done and we had to drive then walk a bit at 4am to get to the new room. We were told the keycard access and video would be reviewed at 8am. We received no phone call or communication from anyone until we went to the lobby to speak to a manager at 10am. He had us wait for 15min, did not introduce himself, was immediately on the defensive. He said they have no video cameras for that area (again secluded, women alone!) and his check of our lock access said we were the only ones who accessed it so... we either are lying (in so many words), didn't lock the door, or possibly one of our "GUESTS" we may have invited back had stolen these things. We had NO other guests as he implied, most of us are married and it was just a fun night out! He basically told us "What do you want the hotel to do for you?" He was rude and condescending, not trained in dealing with people OBVIOUSLY and should not be in management. Please think twice about staying here!!!

This property is a park the car and leave it destination. Our favorite time of the year to visit is January biut we also make an annual trip in August. The Dells has a ton to offer but the Wilderness provides enough family fun to keep you there. Multiple restaurants and waterparks, laser tag, indoor mini gold, plenty of places for adult drinks- what more could you want?

DO NOT STAY HERE! Long story short we had $1500 worth of items stolen out of our room and the management did nothing! They accused us of lying, stealing each others items within the group, and getting drunk and bringing men back to the room and they stole it. None of this happened! I can't believe a sorry excuse for a manager would have the audacity to imply that about a guest!!! The so called manager then threatened to call the police on us because we were complaining about their lack of sympathy and help in regards to the theft. Do your self a favor by keeping your stuff safe and staying somewhere else, because if the same happens to you- they don't care and will provide no help of any sort and will be condescending, accusatory, and unprofessional people! Terrible experience. Myself and the members of my group will never support this resort in any fashion again!

We had a great time. The entire resort was amazing. We spent the first day going from waterpark to waterpark as the resort has numerous both indoor and outdoor ones. We ended the evening by taking a water-taxi across the lake to the infinity pool as the sun set. I think this is where I will be staying from now on for all my trips to the dells.
