“Don't waste your time...AWFUL...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2009

We arrived on November 20 (Saturday night) at 6:30pm. Obviously not peak season for Wisconsin Dells. There were 2 other diners in the restaurant when we arrived. Another party of 2 arrived after us, and then a party of 8 arrived after us as well. We ordered our drinks, and when they arrived, one was missing and the waitress tried to give the kiddie cocktail to my boyfriend. (The kiddie cocktail looked just like my cocktail). Then when my boyfriend got his soda, the glass was dirty. We placed our order - (the menu was very limited, and confusing w/the "Friday night only", etc. "specials"). We ordered a children's cheeseburger off the Kid's menu, for $3.95, and the children's appetizer of cheese curds for $2.95. We then ordered a shrimp scampi appetizer for ourselves, for $8.95 and the prime rib special for each of us. After a 15 minute, wait our appetizers arrived. The cheese curds were a very plentiful order for only $2.95. The three of us enjoyed them, with some left over (BEST part of the evening). The shrimp scampi had 3 shrimp covered in a "garlic" sauce. The first one had a good flavor and was plump and had good color. The middle one (that was hidden in "sauce") was gray and black and mushy/slimy - I was unable to even cut this one. The third one looked like the first. So, there were 2 edible shrimp for $8.95. After another 15 minutes, and after the 2 shrimp were eaten, we were sitting watching the other tables enjoy their entrees, and we had yet to get our salad. We then noticed that every piece of silverware on our table was either spotted or had dried on food on it. We gave these to our waitress, and she made an excuse as to why it was dirty. Then our salads came. The waitress stated that she'd "go put in our orders" at that point. We finished our salad and were sitting watching the other table finish eating their entree. She came over to get the plates, and my son asked how much longer it would be on his cheeseburger. (He's 5 years old, btw). She said the cook just started it, and it would be out shortly. After waiting over an hour in total, and still not having our entree, and watching the others in the restaurant (the ones that came in after us) complete their dinner, and pay their bills, we got up and went to the hostess to explain our dissatisfaction. They brought us our bill of $31, of what we consumed up to that point...one drink, one soda, one kiddie cocktail, 3 rolls, 3 pats of butter, cheese curds, 2 shrimp, and 2 salads (that had 3 cups of black olives). Yummy - delicious... What a complete waste of an evening. Do not waste your time with this place. We are not sure how this place stays in business. At least the three of us enjoyed each other's company, so the night wasn't completely ruined! And, we ended up running through Mc Donald's drive-thru on the way back to the hotel...had GREAT service there! (And, one more thing...we are not AT ALL the type to complain about restaurants, etc.) This is the first time we've ever gotten up to leave a restaurant...and my boyfriend has managed restaurants and has a very high tolerance and understading regarding the service/cooking/etc - things that can go wrong in a restaurant.
