After staying in the dells at the Kalahari many times, we thought we'd try somewhere else this trip. On the bright side, the water park slides are nice, and comparable to the others in the area. But the lifeguards and rules are more layed back than any other water park we've ever stayed at. In my opinion, there are other more safety conscious parks. For example, there is netting for railings at the top of the toddler area, and big buckets of water that tip just on the other side of the nets. An inquisitive toddler could climb the net trying to get to the bucket and go over the edge. Some of the lifeguards were really hustling, and hats off to them.
We stayed in a condo, and the beds were terrible. You ended up in the middle of the mattress because it sagged, and the sheets came off the bed all night because they either didn't fit or were put on wrong. Our patio door screen was ripped out when we arrived, and our toddler fell down in the slippery tub. Check in staff were excellent, check out staff were awful.
I would have gladly discussed these issues with the staff, but no one ever asked us how the room/stay was... With hundreds of places to stay in the area, I'd choose somewhere else.More
