I don't travel to bed and breakfasts much. My boyfriend has fond memories of his childhood trips to the Kickapoo Valley area. He would always stay on a farm. I'm more of a city girl, so for my first trip up there that definitely wasn't an option. When we decided to go on a trip to Viroqua, WI, all the inns we were looking at were really either tacky or overpriced. We decided to stay at Amil's even though we realized that we were staying a bit out of the way of that area. I emailed Anita inquiring about our dates of travel (even though one of them was booked completely on the website) and she responded very quickly and kindly. As it had turned out, she was making some repairs on the room on the lower level, but would accommodate us there for the first night of our stay. When we arrived, the guest who was supposed to be in our room had canceled, and we were able to stay in the largest room for the duration of our stay! Only on the first night were there other guests in the building, but the rooms are so well insulated we hardly heard them. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the sheets were the softest! The bnb is an old farm house that was converted, and it really retains it's charm! Anita and Dave treated us less like travelers wandering through and more like real family. Breakfast was amazing, the quiche we had on our first morning was delicious. I can't speak highly enough of Anita's cooking. She pleasantly woke up and cooked for us early in the morning so we could get a fresh start on the day! She freshly made coffee for us whenever we needed, and pointed out that we could contact her by way of a small button if we ever needed anything. She told us many stories about her family, and shared good advice when we told her stories about ours. She even offered to show us around the Amish communities she had begun to befriend! It was an amazing experience to stay at this bed and breakfast. It made our trip! What was an otherwise lackluster vacation became pleasant and lovely because of our stay here. We didn't even miss television while we were there because Dave and Anita's conversation was so inspiring and so riveting! We can't wait until our next vacation days to return to this bnb!!

Room Tip: Any room here is a bargain!!

Wonderful trip to Wilton, Wisconsin area. This was a getaway experience with my husband and parents. My folks 40th wedding anniversary was this fall and we gave them a B & B gift certificate. They had a great time! We were also in the area for a race on the Sparta bike trail. My husband ran his first half-marathon. It seemed like the whole community was involved in putting on this event. Friendly people!

Top 5 Reasons to stay at Amil's Bed and Breakfast:
1. Great innkeepers, Anita and Dave.
2. Homemade cookies and good tasting breakfasts foods. A lot from local farmers and the Amish.
3. Clean, relaxing, and warm rooms. The farm house was completely renovated a couple years ago.
4. Beautiful country roads and scenery
5. Fresh & local cheese and Amish baked goods. Good cheese curds!

Room Tip: Please follow directions for the innkeepers web site. The Bed and Breakfast in actually in Ontario, WI. We had to use a precise GPS location.

My husband and I stayed at Amil's over the fourth of July weekend while in WI for a friend's wedding. Several friends rented out the other rooms and it was the perfect getaway! Anita cooked the BEST breakfasts (other guests we talked to who were staying elsewhere were VERY jealous!) and she was so gracious about serving us at different times when needed. The rooms were delightful, and we loved drinking coffee every morning on the porch! I would recommend Amil's for couples or friend groups.

Room Tip: We stayed in Beyond the Sunset, but all of the rooms looked wonderful!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this property and had an excellent time. Everything was elegant and lovely. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. We were surprised with a small two-tier anniversary cake, as we were there celebrating 14 years together. We took a day to bike the Elroy-Sparta bike trail, and had a great time there as well. We would definitly recomment this location for anyone looking for a country getaway!

We were looking for a B&B midway on the Elroy-Sparta bike trail. Amil's had a very thorough, informative web site. It looked wonderful and lived up to our expectations. We have stayed in many B&Bs across the country and this is one of the best. Our room, the Heritage was very comfortable and roomy. We toured the other rooms and they looked just as nice. Snacks (cookies and candy) and drinks (soda and water) were always available. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful with vegetables and fruits from their garden and homemade baked goods. Anita encouraged taking some baked goods along for our trail ride, that was most appreciated. The views from our room and the front porch were hills filled with fall colors.

Room Tip: The Heritage is on the 1st floor, all other rooms on the 2nd floor.
