The place just seemed depressing to me. The wallpaper is coming off, the tile is not cut right, the carpet is coming up a little, the light in the bathroom made a loud fluorescent bulb hum. Worst of all, the mattress pad was one of those plastic ones, so whenever I moved it made a weird crunching noise. The bed was hard and I'm guessing the pillows had been washed in a washer, based on the lumpiness. The heater was hard to manage; I woke up sweating in the middle of the night and I also felt like it was very dry in the room. It was clean enough that I did take a shower (I've definitely stayed at places where I thought showering might make me dirtier and this was not one of them), but I made sure to wear my shoes as much as possible. The carpet had definitely seen better days. The water was really hard and I wondered if my conditioner would make it so I could get a comb through it (I did, but I definitely lost more hair than usual in the process). The #1 good thing about it is that the internet is very fast. So, from what I heard, this is better than the other hotel in town, but that is not saying a lot. I came to Whitewater for an event and stayed here the first night since it was the recommended hotel, but switched to the Holiday Inn in Fort Atkinson the 2nd night which was a good choice! Fort Atkinson is not that far.
