The Oak Park Inn is without competition when visiting Whitehall. It's clean, it's simple, it's friendly, and the owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. A wholesome breakfast, some advice on the many cycling routes of Trempealeau County, even a brief history lesson on the Amish, and we were off for a weekend of outstanding biking. The rolling hills and smooth roads attracted us to southwestern Wisconsin ... the Oak Park Inn makes us want to return.

I've been here twice for business in the last month. Picture a minature of Mr. Vernon. It is a beautiful setting with gardens, water falls, a veranda connecting the main digs and the old carriage house. There is a multi-unit motel as well as a carriage house converted to 3 rooms/suites. Beds are huge and soft, and if you are a pillow fanatic like I am, it is a bonanza because you get 8(count 'em), 8 pillows/bolsters. The owner is very helpful and friendly. She put on a healthy breakfast for us with veriaty. She remembers you if you are a repeat customer. Getting up early in the am and doing T'ai Chi next to a waterfalll was a terrific experience. I recommend Oak Park Inn very highly. The only downside.....it is in Whitehall which doesn't have much in the way of attractions.

Room Tip: I like the Carriage house. Huge bed and a living room with coach and table and mini-kitchen all for...

Three friends and I were in western Wisconsin a long weekend of bike riding in Trempealeau County and stayed two nights at this bed and breakfast in Whitehall. We hit the jackpot both with the riding and with the Oak Park Inn. It's a simple, friendly and charming place. Linda and Steve could not have been more genuinely pleasant and friendly. They were very well informed about the bicycling in the region and went out of their way to make sure we had the right maps and inside information about the roads, restaurants and local customs. The inn itself is convenient, clean, quiet and well maintained, with basic rooms situated on a beautiful piece of property reminiscent of a (very small) Mount Vernon. The ample breakfast is oriented around bagels, muffins, cereal and yogurt, fresh fruit and juice/coffee/tea. For a relaxing time in a beautiful part of the state, this is a great place. I'll be coming back, that's for sure. (Oh, and while in Whitehall, check out some great authentic (non-gringo-ized) Mexican food at Guerrero's in Whitehall and another place on Main St. in Independence.)

I have been visiting Trempealeau County to go bicycling for years and always stay at the Oak Park Inn. Linda, Steven and Travis are the most friendly and accommodating people I have encountered in the B&B business. The Inn is clean, quiet and the grounds are exceptionally well kept. I leave relaxed, refreshed and looking forward to next years stay at the Oak Park Inn.

This darling B&B was recommend by a friend who lives in Blair, WI which is very near Whitehall.
My friends and I were visiting for one night from the Twin Cities and The Oak Park Inn could not have been more perfect! It is right off the main road and the property is absolutely beautiful. Linda and Steven are charming hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. We are looking forward to our return and would highly recommend it to others, do something nice for yourselves and get away to The Oak Park Inn!

Room Tip: The Carriage House was charming and very cozy!

I am not sure if I wrote a review upon my last stay here or not but I am getting ready to go back next month and cannot wait! I stay in hotels 140 nights each year and the ONLY one I ever truly look forward to is the Oak Park Inn. OK, maybe the one in Dubai, too.

It is quaint, clean, extraordinarily serene, and you simply cannot go wrong. I am still planning to reserve a week for nothing but a mini-retreat, of sorts.

Room Tip: I like the room across from the breakfast area. Building 1, I believe.

Whitehall is a popular destination for bicyclists, but we're not bikers. We just needed a nice, quiet place to stay. This fit the bill perfectly. Very clean, well-kept and comfortable. And Linda and Steve are nice folks. Our bedroom had a huge window that looked out on a big garden under a canopy of trees, filled with song birds. The Oak Park Inn is a special place.
