The restaurant was cozy, seating on a Friday evening was fast, menu was varied - plenty of vegetarian options, and the food was wonderful

We have eaten at this restaurant several times; each time the service has been average at best; many times with long delays between ordering, refills of beverages, waiting for the check. The tempura beans and the home made potato chips are by far the best reason for going there - but not sure if the service frustration is worth it. Recently the weather allowed for outdoor eating - the server was trying to cover tables both inside and out - it didn't work.

This was our second visit. We enjoyed the first time so much we had to see if there was consistency. This is a wonderful local restaurant that puts excellent food on the table. Prices are reasonable, about $30 per couple with non-alcoholic drinks. This is a small place, so reservations are most helpful, especially since it does get busy. If anything, try the tempura green beans - even if you hate your veggies. They don't skimp on how many you get (plenty for 4) and the chili dipping sauce rounds our a great flavor. We are fans of the short-rib bolognese. Al dente wide noodles with an incredible meat sauce (real meat, not the ground stuff). This is a definite go-to place. Food came to the table well-paced, but the service, while attentive, was a little too casual (reaching across the table to serve, plopping drinks on the table which spill over - little things that could add up!). But don't let that stop you from a wonderful taste sensation.

We walked in on a friday night and sat at the bar because the place was packed. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which came out within 10 minutes. The bartenders were both very nice and tended to us often. Our food came out not that much longer and it was delicious. The atmosphere is also very nice. We would definitely go back if we are in that area.

My wife and I went there before a concert. We did not make reservations, but arrived fairly early (5:15 pm or so). There were no tables available without reservations, so we wound up at the bar. The barkeeps were friendly and made us feel welcome, even though they were extremely busy with drink, food, and take-away orders. It's a good thing we were not in a hurry, as the service was a bit relaxed at times. My wife ordered a Magner's cider, and I had a glass of Foppiano petite sirah to go with the appetizer, a Nosh for two. It had a nice selection of charcuterie, cheeses, and dried fruits. My wife had the Acapulco Avocado salad with chicken breast added, and I had pork with lentils and spinach served in a bowl, and a glass of Cosentino THE Cab. Both were tasty, but the salad arrived wihout avocados and without chicken! When we pointed this out, they apologized and (eventually) brought out the missing items. They did not charge us for the salad and offered us a dessert also to make up for the slip. We did not have time or appetite to accept, so they substituted a couple of free drink tokens for our next time back. Of course we'll go back, since this is not our first visit and we've seen better service at other times. We will probably make a reservation so we can get a table.

It's a bit crowded and noisy for a really special night, but as a casual place it works well. The people next to us at the bar were friendly and chatty, which made the evening more fun.

The drinks and cocktails looked interesting. The wine list is small but well-chosen, with choices like the Cosentino cab by the glass that are unusual to see.

It's located just at the eastern edge of Wauwatosa, with a parking lot east of the building. There is a sign that you shouldn't leave valuable things visible in the car. It's a good idea no matter where you are.
