“TRY THE FRIED DILL PICKLES”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

we had the french dip special - large delicious sandwich, luke warm French fries - skip them! The coffee cups were big and the second cup was hot. First one was just warm. But the cinnamon stick, whipped cream and chocolate chips were a nice touch. The battered fried dill pickles are a fun appitizer and worth the cost.

Thanks for your review. I'll be the first to admit it, our french fries used to go cold fast. We recently upgraded our fry product (since your review) and now they're fantastic. Also, sorry about the lukewarm coffee. We serve Green Mountain coffee so it is a sin to serve it cold... I'll keep a closer eye on this. And yes, our Dillys are awesome - thanks much! Hope to see you again soon!

“Ate there once”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

I just stopped in for a burger, the service was average, the atmosphere was good, the food was not. The burger was just a a frozen patty and could have been just as good at the McDonalds down the street for 1/2 the price.

Thank you for your review. I apologize if your food was not what you were expecting but I felt obligated to inform you and the review readers that our burgers have always been fresh (not frozen). In fact, we just changed our menu and ingredients so the burgers will be better than ever. I truly hope that you give us another chance when you're in town. P.S. - Hurley is a fun town.

“Needs new management”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

This place used to be tops in Wausau. Now it's a cellar dweller. The service was very slow, the food was cold and tasteless. They cut back on the portion sizes, and no longer give out tootsie rolls. Avoid if you can. Positive reviews in the last couple years were likely written by management.

Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry your experience wasn't good and I would like to learn more about it (when you came in, who your server was, etc). Please call me at 715-849-8586 when you have an opportunity. For the record though, we do still offer tootsie pops at the door and no manager, employee, or affiliated party has ever written a false review for our company. Hope to hear from you soon!

“Eh....not what it used to be.”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We were enjoying a Sunday drive and had visited this Hudson's several years ago when we came through Wausau, so we decided to stop again. We were not impressed this time.

At 2 in the afternoon, it took an unusually long time for the hostess to even greet/seat us. Our waitress was prompt in taking our drink orders and we ordered our food along with the drinks. The drinks came immediately.

I had ordered a BLT, hold the mayo. The sandwich came as ordered, but I was shocked by the appearance. The bread was not toasted. It wasn't white however. It looked like it had been painted with a bit of butter, very yellowy. It was also as flat as a DVD. It housed a few slices of bacon, one slice of tomato and maybe, maybe two strips of bacon. Sure it tasted like a BLT, but it was aesthetically unappealing. My husband's burger was prepared to his liking and was a nice thick burger. We both had the coleslaw as a side, which was the typical small container. It was ok.

Our waitress was pleasant, but I really doubt we'd go back to Hudson's.

“Ermergherd!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

Stopped at Hudsons for a bite for lunch, had never been before. Friendly staff, great service, great menu. Met a new friend, Ben :) Great hard working kid. No quirks or gimmicks here, which was a nice departure from all the other chains around here. We thouroughly enjoyed. Try the desserts, or a shake! Best on tap beer selection around. Noticed as we were leaving "family owned and operated." Kudos to them, there arent enough places like that around.
