We have read good reviews but maybe the great service and good food is saved for regular customers. We went after church on a Sunday and poor service, before and after our order. My omelette was missing flavor, my husb. liked his eggs benedict, and our teen was happy with her food except for the bad service.

“Never again!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

We stayed at the connecting Howard Johnson's Inn only to be told AFTER we checked in that Emma K's was shut down that evening by the health inspectors because of something to do with their ovens. We planned on eating at the restaurant that Saturday night after checking in, but then after we checked in had to find somewhere for supper. Very disappointing!!! Nobody let us know that they reopened the next morning, as the coffee maker in the room was musty and we needed a cup of coffee. How very disappointing. We had a bad experience all around, with the restaurant and adjoining Hotel. Never again!!!

“Home Cooking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

I always enjoy visiting Emma Krumbee's when I'm passing through Wausau. The food is usually good with regional specialties. After 8pm however, the specials for the day are gone and many items are sold out. Soups are great.

“GREAT FOOD!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

We stopped in for a late dinner, the service was fantastic, atmosphere a little dated but very clean, a good selection of reasonably priced food and our food arrived hot and delicious. The only complaint during the whole meal was my wife's roast beef had too much gravey... now if that is your biggest complaint the restaurant must be pretty good! You just can't ask for a better place to eat.

Tip: try the carmel-apple shake... really great!

“Decent, average Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

The food was decent. It reminded me of the traditional home-style food chains that you encounter most anywhere. Not bad...but, not memorable.
